Reading helps a lot. And the more you write, the better you become at writing. Practice makes perfect.

Honestly, everything helps. Right from TV shows and movies to reading, you pickup things (new phrases, words, idioms) best when you are not actively trying to learn.

Be willing to learn as much as you can, and take advice from those that are higher up in writing then you!

You can learn to be a good writer. There are lots of books and online courses that can help you. So it doesn't matter what your education level is.
