[Poll] 301 redirect to homepage OR re-create old content ?

Back in the day, I remember 301 redirecting the WHOLE domain to money site still worked for SEO purpose. Then things changed, SEO-ers had to take an extra step: creating content and linking to the moneysite, we call those sites as Private Blog Network.

Now people say that the same thing happens in a website itself: 301 redirecting broken URL to homepage is now a huge footprint and does not pass link juice anymore; best practice is re-building the contents, re-building the broken URLs and linking to homepage. That's how PBN should be built now.

While there is no strong proof to prove the 2nd story, to me it is still a myth. I just want to ask you guy how do you build your PBN ? All replies are appreciated !

- 90% or more links pointing to inner pages and scattered all over the place = Redirect via Htacess
- 50% of the links pointing to inner pages, mostly to just a few of them = Recreate URLs or entire pages
- 10% or less links pointing to inner pages = Leave it as it is
