political channels earning potential

So few years ago political topic on youtube was a big no-no if you wanted to make money, what's going on now? i see hundreds of channels talking only about politics, people lie talk facts hide facts and all, how much are they making?

It is a cool niche but these days I see some videos get age restricted in political channels. I don't know maybe it is as a result of keywords by users in the comments that trigger the system

Youtube has been demonetizing a lot of channels without any clear explanation. Some say they are taking down right wing channel, but I am not sure. In any case there is no clear definition as to what is acceptable and what is not. I would stay clear of politics when it comes to creating a channel, but if that is what makes you tick then by all means go ahead. You can adopt alternative methods of monetization like in-video product endorsement which can pay much more than google ads. Numbers are not known to anyone except the channel creators I guess.

You can make a lot but only by using non-conventional monetization methods such as Patreon or selling your political books to monetize those kinds of the channel. Also, you have to stay true to yourself and believe in the ideas that you are preaching and don't say hot takes only to make money from the supporters lol. It's not gonna stick for long if your only motivation will be the money.

I think it is hard to survive in this niche. People will report you if they don't like your political side. Even if you try to be as neutral as possible.
It's definitely not my go to niche.
