I was having a conversation with a friend about Poker and whether people get caught using Poker Solvers online and Poker GTO?

It seems like a massive opportunity to earn money if it is possible to do it without detection. So I am curious to whether any of your have any experience with Poker solvers or other Poker software? If yes, what are the requirements to get started with it?

I think it is a tool for calculating winning chance (percentage) of your hand again one specific situation. If you play long enough, you can build it on your head but for beginner, the tool is really big help. But most poker system has a detect system for banning those tools.
 
yeah it wont help for advance players, its a huge help for beginners.
If you can bypass system detection, you're good to go
 
Ironically, by playing according to the perfect theoretical approach you make yourself vulnerable to exploitation. Compared to other games (such as Blackjack), you are playing against other people - and that's what it's about: Being better than someone else.
Having the GTO charts in-mind greatly helps beginners to properly grasp some ground concepts, but as every poker pro will tell you: You gotta switch up your GTOs depending on the play style of your opponent and some factors such as tournament type, stakes and so forth.

All in all, GTOs are of great help for new players.
Actually making money solely by knowing proper game theory? Meh. ... why wouldn't everybody use them? ;)
 
The use of solvers is prohibited in most major poker rooms.

You got the wrong end of the stick there

GTO play is un-exploitable. That's the whole purpose.

You won't be exploiting other players though, which is where the downside is, particularly in loose IRL cash games. Although you'd always be positive EV playing GTO, on the odd occasion playing a max exploitation style can be better.

In general though GTO is the aim.

People have been using real time solvers in online poker for over a decade. They just don't talk about it as it's highly unethical and illegal.
