I'm learning to play poker in professional way, but I see there are many spam offers in the web where people try to give you free poker bots (affiliates) like this "bonusbots" ( I heard it's a scam).. Some people say poker bots work for little time then you get banned from the poker room.. Any experience with a poker bot, is it really a scam/crap??

( I remember there was a similar thing in the trading niche like a stock market bot never worked but people still get scammed)

Poker is the new area for Computer Scientist as Chess was years ago.

Poker AI is still a new field and is only well developed at universities.
These offered bot by adds will get nowhere close to those developed by universities.

Wait a few years and maybe then AI will win from people but at this moment, don't bother with Poker bots.

Dont fall for scams like that.

Learn to exploit others' mistakes and watch your chipstack grow ;)

Thats the secret to win tons of money from poker, and thats what i do ;)

Poker bots are effective for Fixed Limit games, like 3-6 limit holdem etc., In fact some even just tell you exact what to do that give you a +EV in the long run, those are quite popular and will almost never get banned.

Now I am sure you are aware, the most popular games tend to be No-Limit or Pot-Limit games, which includes a variable that is not only unique and depends on a variety of factors, but it requires, more than anything else, logic. As humans we have an advantage from that aspect, for now. (We will see about AI in the future, could be scary stuff) So in general, most poker "bots" are fake/scams/wastes.

You are best off learning to play the game, using a HUD, and improving your skills.

Note: I will not recommend a fixed limit bot, but honestly you are going to need to have a large BR, and a few other things to even be successful with that. However, they are real and do exist. Other than that, for now, you are one step ahead of those pesky the machines. Collusion is a whole other article, but we will stick with this for now. Good Luck!!

Dude, if poker bots like that existed, I would play them all day long anytime anywhere. They would be extremely easy to outplay in every street due to their inability to adapt to a player's game.

I could play either aggressive or weak against them and be able to outplay them. Knowing when they bet, when they call or when they fold, would allow me to own them anytime.

With that being said, I wouldn't need any pocket cards to outplay them as I would play bots in the most optimal way in every situation.

If you want to lose money, let's set up a game between me and one of your bots and watch your money go my way EVERY TIME. ;)

Ok, you have way more posts than me, and I am not trying to say you're wrong, because you aren't.

But I just wanted to make this clear again, it is for ONLY Fixed Limit or Possibly Pot Limit, and it does not guarantee you will win, but it will show you the highest +EV play, since your options are Raise/Bet, Call, or Fold.

Some players even get custom programs made. Here is an article of Gus Hansen accusing someone of using one against him. Again, these are two high stakes professionals even talking about it, so I am just putting out the information, nothing more.

Note: Again, I understand there is a myriad of factors and you are not "guaranteed" to win, but they are out there. I still wouldn't recommend using one.

It could be a reality dependant on how much money you have. eg if i had 100k then it might be worth pumping it into a site like innocentive to get some genius to code one for me (that site is full of clever peeps) otherwise its not worth your time.

Dont worry about posts bro, they dont make me invincible or something.

I just wanted to say that if i was to play against a bot, i would win every single time due to their inheritent flaws. It would take some time for me (or anyone else) to read and understand the bot's play, but in the end, if the player learns to adapt, he would win every single time ;)

What you call 'playing the player' is also coded into a good bot. You can customize anything on a good framework hold em bot, especially limited games. And while yes, getting +ev long term with a bot is harder than getting +ev yourself, its doable for a really dedicated dude.

edit: yes, they are scams.
