Hey guys, I've played a lot of online poker back in the day and now that I'm decent at webdesign/SEO I'm thinking of jumping into that niche. Yes it is very competitive and it's gonna be hard to rank for certain money keywords, but my question is : is it worth it? are there good affiliate payouts out there? anybody currently making money in the poker niche right now? thx

From what I've heard, money is being made in every niche, even chocolate covered cockroaches. If you're aware that it's competitive and hard, then that would make it rhetorical, of course there is money being made if it is competitive. If it's one of your passions, than by all means go and pursue it, as following your heart, passion and ambition is by far the easiest, best and most appropriate way to pursue internet marketing.

Just my two cents, bra.

Hey, the cpc/cpm/seo in that niche is insane so I'd imagine your best bet is some sort of social marketing. Try facebook, youtube, twitter.

One idea is facebook pages, create a page related to poker with your aff link, create a fake profile and add 5k friends who are potentially interested in poker (probably target 18-50 year old males? this is the hard part), invite them all to your page. If you have something valuable on the page maybe it'll get shared or maybe half of these 5k friends will 'Like' your page and then more people will go to it, etc. Rinse and repeat.

Yeah I definitely plan on doing something like that. I also have a plan for youtube.. basically what I'm asking is : if I send a reasonable amount of targeted traffic to a poker affiliate offer, does it convert well and if so do they even pay you? I heard some poker sites pay a % of the rake generated by a player.. seems pretty easy to screw affiliates. I'm not paranoid but I'd like to hear from someone who is making some money off poker affiliate programs right now..

Many sites pay you %, but some have CPA program paying you per sign up and first deposit as well. These are good short-term, but long-term it might not pay off!

ok.. I hope not everybody in the world already has a poker account lol.

I would stick to reputable CPA networks only in this niche...
