Hello BHW,

I'm wondering of opening a Texas Hold'em Poker website.

I want to start earning some money with affiliate programs.

I do not have experience with any Affiliate before.
I'm good with SEO (Primary with Whitehat SEO)

So..
Can you please tell me which affiliate is going to be easyer and what are the pros and cons of these 2 affiliate programs ?

I have almost created my Poker website. I have wrote a 3 articles and I have placed a lot of Affiliate banners in my website (I'm Currently using PartyPartners's affiliate program, but you can suggest me other if there is better than partypartners)..

I Think that Promoting a Gambling Website is going to be VERY HARD, because there is almost no where to promote my website, and there are not too many social bookmarks websites which i can place my website (The whitehat way) in order to get a few backlinks.

Can you please suggest me what to do ?

Should I continued to write articles of my poker website, or should I drop it out and start with another NON Gamble Affiliate website.
(P.S. I Do not like to drop my projects, so please tell me my options)

Yep, gambling niche is hard. Be sure you know what you're doing before you start as it might turn into 3 years project. :-)

The worst part, gambling population has hard time trusting you. There are so many scammers, and without branding conversion rates will stay low.

Hello There,

3 Year project? WoW.. Dude this is way too much..

I'm an Arcade Website owner, (it was my very first website), and it took me 4 months to create it, and Now i have 100-200-250 visits SE Traffic.
I'm currently making 1$ to 2$ per day..
So, I don't think that it will take me 3 years.. Maybe up to 6 months or less..

But If really is that long I'm considering of dropping it.. This is way too much time..

Can someone else suggest me what to do?

I have heard that there are very good earnings when someone clicks on my advertise (PPC)

Gambling is one of the toughest niches to beat.. considering its popularity you will have to compete with tons of sites pretty much offering the same deal, sites that have been set up years ago.

As far as regular affiliate earnings model, forget about it.. most of the seasoned affiliate marketers in gambling have a custom deal that gives them much higher commissions, so unless you can catch hold of the affiliate manager and negotiate a higher deal you'll be losing out on a lot.

Besides this, you also have rakeback sites that are pretty popular too.

Also consider the legal aspects. The US recently launched investigations into the big sites like doylesroom, pokerstars, fulltilt (FT lost their gambling license as well and pretty much on the verge of a shut down).

You would ideally be targeting European/Asian gamblers, so consider building a site in one of the local languages if possible.

Other than this bad news, wish you all the best! There is a good money to be made via Revenue share.. You can look at profits in the longer term only.

As for gambling PPC.. they have gone past this many years ago and the ones who do it.. proceed with caution.

Oh mate.. you have just gave me up on doing a gambling website.
There are just a LOT of things that I need to beat.. Pretty bad for me.. :(

Herbal ? or something ?
Pils ?
Or dunno..
I have never been involving with any affiliate markets..

But I heard that they are very profitable.. If you manage to get good SE Traffic..

I hope that you will help me to start in some not that hard niche.

Don't take me wrong.. Its hard to beat but definitely not impossible!! Just that it takes a bit more effort and time to see some really good results. If you have the money, around 13k, there's a site being sold that is doing the buzz in the gambling circles :)

Besides, gambling the next high paying niche would have to be Forex and binary options. You also have the adult industry that is quite good.
 
Commission Junction has Game Duel also Royal Rummy. It's pretty good payouts if you have decent traffic. You have to sign up for Commission Junction first and then do a search for Royal Rummy and Game Duel. They each pay out about 30.00 per sale.
 
not for the common man...the most money in any niche is made by the person selling the info on the niche not persons involved in the niche...

ex: the only people making big buck in the forex niche arepeople selling courses or seminars 1-1 coaching etc...and the big investors who invest as a profession (wall street)

same in the IM niche the people selling you push button softwares ,seo, traffic, product creation etc make all thier money from selling the info not from the actual niche itself...they don't use the stuff they sell.or very seldom you find a marketer whose actually actively using the methods he teaches...

the monies in the info...

thanx and i have an affiliate site that pays $1000 per sale...anybody wants it it's free but only if you go through my link...it's being sold for $27 elsewhere...include complete marketing strategy with a new twist enabling you to have little to no competition no gambling needed...
 
Hey mate I have a online poker site and believe me it is not easy. Especially with the current Online poker situation you need to be prepared to put in a lot of work. GL!

Not so true, my brother will coach our new clients how to play texas holdem using the same strategy he using to get good monthly income.

Contact me and lets talk. I do poker affiliation for a living and have a very large broker affiliate. What I suck at and am not good at is anything to do with the web. All my clients are by word of mouth. We didnt even get a website till this year and its not even updated regularily.

We can exchange ideas and experience. Maybe if things gel right we can even consider a joint venture.

My partner has 10 years of experience in this field, I've got 15 years in gaming, but only 2 years in affiliation

About the first option if you don't have almost 20000 $/eur for license and30-50000 for platform plus almost 20-30000 for advertising... wit the risk to fail in less monhts, better you look for the second of third option. They are profictable without any investment (only need to promote in right way, by a website or simply talking with friends, people...)...
If you are searching simple a website gambling oriented... I think it will be better you build your own. Of courseif you have not experience, it will be very hard and you will not solve buying an existing website because you need to understand if what this website shows is good or like the same hundreds of websites showing uselesses and wrong info!

I'm promoting gambling the whitehat way and yea, it's not like any other niche.

I've never heard of PPC but there is alot of brands supporting PPA, I did PPA with a brand and they paid me $90 on the first deposit (min $15) but i prefer revenue share since you can earn alot in the long run and even when you stop promoting you will still have these players under you. You should target european players and promote only brands with licence on malta since all winnings are tax free :)

Once upon a time i was going to start a affiliate blog for ppl wanting to promote european casino supporting netent but never finnished it up and lost interest..
Check it out at netentaffiliates*com, for a list of some brands i recommend with a revenue share up to 50%.

I think hes talking about opening a website to drive traffic to affiliate deals for poker. If hes actually talking about getting a poker skin, the costs will probably end up being even more than what you quoted depending on the network although I have seen people do it for less.
 
As a 5 year veteran in the poker field i suggest you drop your texas holdem dream before you start it. It takes a LOT of effort to be a big name in the field. And without poker knowledge i really dont think it is possible to achieve long term profits.
Poker players don't go on a random site and deposit money . Why? becouse you have so many big name affiliates who will always give more and bigger bonuses than you do. And of top of that you have skype affiliates who advertise on forums etc who give a sick bonus to players just to get that 1 or 2% of commission .
The only way i think you can make money of off poker players this days is with a very good sales letter.
Poker players like communities and people who will help them get better "for free". The bigger sites have coaches who make videos, forums where people help each other with famous names etc..
