Hello everyone I'm new on the site but I make bots. Hoping someone could point me in the right direction. All of my bots are completely free but I want to host them on my domain. What I am looking for is a way to tell how many times they have been downloaded. Can one of you help me out?

Probably isn't the answer you're looking for but I'll chip in anyway. Hopefully someone else can give a better suggestion.

I use e-junkie as my payment processor and they allow free downloads. You could upload the file (not sure if they would allow it depending on the file extension) and your visitors will be able to download the file instantly once they have clicked the download button.

You'll be able to tell how many times they have been downloaded through the control panel on e-junkie.

Anyway, why do you want to know how many times they have been downloaded? What bots do you make?

Create a script that will log the data you need (A). Then set it up like this:
Visitor -> A -> (302 redirect) -> Actual download link

I create all types of bots in my free time. I am just curious how many times any of them get downloaded. Since they are all free and no registration there is no call back to a server to monitor

use a wordpress blog and a download manager plugin. Easiest solution IMO.

That's what I'm going with. Easiest solution. I would rather spend more time writing bots theb messing with a website

You could also just install something like AWStats (google it [I can't post links simce I'm a new member]) which is a free open-source traffic analyzer. It will tell you not only how many times each of your bots have been downloaded, but also some really insightful information about who visits your website, and how they use it.

@dycero - Pm me your skype, I would need your service
