Point backlinks to home or inner page ?

To be frank, it depends on the goal.
It's always good to have authority on your homepage so it can spread to the inner pages. Especially if you're just starting out. This is like the foundation for ranking.
Then if you need a inner page to rank you can build links to it.
So, maybe after the second or third month of starting my link building strategy I would go after my inner pages if I want them ranked.
