Thanks for the inspiration, I read BHW a while ago but never joined or took action with what I read. The journey has started for me this year finally and people like you inspire me to continue, thanks!
 
Great post, reminds me when I was starting, I was broke, didn't have the money to pay my internet bills, started with tasks that gave me $1.25 an hour!

Inspirational indeed. Seems I'm at the stage you were at when starting. Buying domains and trying to get a method to stick. First time I've seen the advice about just getting involved and being active though. I read a lot but don't try to contribute really.
 
Po i know you for several years now and can truly say out of the old mod group whos behavior was like in a dictatorship you were the only real Mod/Admin who people could talk with

I'm glad that I took the time to read this. As a father in the over 30 crowd(well, over 40 with me :D) with 2 small children, it is good to see real life success stories from regular family guys. Anyone can succeed with hard work, determination, a few breaks, and some common sense as well. Well played Po.

Great story, thank you for sharing! As a 30 something father of 3 who works for a software company, I was able to identify with many of the things you said. I'm on BHW whenever I have free time and am trying to learn everything I can. There is a ton of good information on this forum and I look forward to the day that I can give something back. I can't believe I overlooked the irc channel! I'm adding it to the irc client that I have on my phone right away!
 
Good call - I was wanting to know more about pofecker. I did interact with him a little, he seemed like a good guy. I don't know why but his passing really has had a strong impact on me.
 
I Always believe that Great people get Famous after their death.
And after known about Pofecker i searched the forum to know more about him, and here it go a Great Thread.
Honestly now i feel more sorry that I Never meet this guy

I just found this thread. After people were saying they missed him, I searched his username and this is one of them that came up. It looks like I joined BHW too late and I never got a chance to meet this guy. He seemed awesome! RIP.
