Hey. I am looking to get into the POD business. The niche I chose is not saturated at all. The big guys doing this quite frankly suck at thier designs and do not offer much for men. Biggest complaint I hear and read is that there is not many choices for them. So i’ve decided to jump in the game. I am very much into the scene and can see this working.

So my questions:

  1. Other than printful which POD sites offer custom neck labels?
  2. Which sites have the best shipping rates? The fact that some sites charge per item is insane.
  3. Which sites have the best return policy?
  4. Which ones are integrated with Shopify and Amazon?
  5. Which offer the best margin? Some sites have higher base cost but margin is better.
I know what your thinking, I should be doing this research myself and I have but, many of them don’t have this info until you sign up. Or have it buried somewhere on their site. Or you have to go through the process of creating a product to see what the return is. Some blogs have some info but they leave out alot of important info. Its such a waste of my time.

I figured I ask the community as I’ve seen many post about the t-shirt business so perhaps you guys can be so kind as to help me out. I know of a few sites but could be missing a ton I don’t know about.

If I get good responses I’ll create a google doc and share with all.

Oh and buying in bulk and printing locally is not in the cards just yet. I rather test then buy best sellers in bulk. But thats months down the line.

Also interested in the topics mentioned ahove. I had one guy that was running around ~20 POD stores share with me a good supplier but dumb me I didn't bookmark it and I've lost contact with him : /

For cheapest option, Customcat for shopify. Then use shopify to connect to amazon.

I think most of POD have positive and negative side.

Just stick with anything that have good customer support. If any problem, can direct to them.

Just read this below. (Not my website, and i don't know him). Have some info that you required. Gudluck :)

When you build a business such as this, assuming you have a little money to invest, dont overly worry about profit margin, which is basically what the questions you ask are about.

You are still at the proof of concept stage.

So concentrate on getting your business up and running running smoothly from a targeted traffic/sales funnel perspective and then concentrate on improving the margin.

As the answer is always create and ship your own, which to be viable needs volume.

I have a shopify account - Most of the "apps"/POD providers allow you to sign up with them and do test cases. At no charge.
One exception is pillow profits - They charge monthly but provide single line pricing with shipping, so it's worth it to use them .

I would check out scalable press also.
If all of that fails and you don't want to spend any money at all, sign up for an account at tspring. All the offerings of shopify without the back end management (And costs)
Good luck
