I am having about 5 messages showing as sent from my behalf about wanting to sell bitcoins.

This messages were not sent by me.
Plus, it is not my style of writing. Here is the message:

how many Paypal for 300$ Bitcoins ?
localbitcoins sucks..

I never refer to paypal as pp and I never use "Thx".

Hope this is some kind of glitch.

Until I figure this out, I will change my password.

Account probably compromised. Change pass asap. And ask mods to check your account and last logged ip`s. Maybe they can check that same ip if its logged to more accounts and not just yours.

Aside from changing your pass and reporting it to mods, enable two-step verification too, so this can't happen in the future.
Make sure that you don't have a keylogger.

I assume making sure of no keylogger isn't very simple and can be pretty hidden?

A scan with Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro in safe mode usually does the trick. If not, reformatting the drive and a clean OS install will surely do.
