You can use any of the following softwares to edit videos

    Pinnacle Studio
    Ulead Video Studio
    Adobe Premiere
    Sony Vegas
    Adobe After Effects

Though some of these softwares are used for High End Video editing, i suggest you to go for Ulead Video Studio or Sony Vegas for trimming your video

    Good Luck!

Sony Vegas. Easy to use. Unlike many other video editing software, you don't need to be advanced to be able to use it.

Corel Videostudio Pro is super easy to use and you can make some really professional videos with it. I have worked with other video editing software like Avid, Premiere and Sony Vegas and Videostudio has been my favorite one since it's so damn simple even to make some semi-pro effect.

I think there is a 30 day FULL trial. I actually bought it. I think it's one of those softwares that just deserves that needs to be bought.
