PLR content. Can it RANK?

I'm on my first month of blogging, so far I managed 6 articles which are way off my target of 20 articles per month. I did try to outsource but I'm not confident about the quality. I have no budget to spend for top writers so I'm writing everything on my own. Gosh, I can say it's totally mentally exhausting.

I am thinking of buying PLR content then rewriting and adding more but not sure if it would rank though.

Rehashing Ezine articles etc..

I also purchase a subscription of chimp rewriter to rewrite some articles on top pages but I'd make sure it will look 100% readable.

Any Ideas?

If the rewrite does the following, you should be fine
1) passes copyscape
2) formatted to be READ EASILY
3) engages the reader
