Please let me know how much i shall get?

Hi fellow digital marketers, i am a full timer digital marketer in my own company and they started to expand the services to the public. I was wondering how much recurring commission i shall get per project?

My job scope:
1. Keyword research
2. Backlinks research
3. Onpage seo
4. Offpage seo
5. Provide monthly report to clients
6. Meet customers with sales team (maybe or maybe not)

They charge 600usd monthly for SEO and 360usd for both Local SEO and SEM. In your point of view, how much % of recurring commission i shall get?

FYI, there are no projects at all for now and i'm the only digital marketer in the company. So i'll need to do everything on my own except of content writing.

so, from what I'm understanding you're working for someone else (so, it's not really your OWN company like you said), and you're the only guy that will do the work but your company will pay you about $18 / $30 on a $600 / $360 commissions that they charge their clients. Is that correct?

If my understanding is correct then 5% is too little. I mean, if you only get 1 project / day that's manageable for this low payment. But what happens when your company gets 10-20 projects a day? When that happens you'll realize that 5% (and even 6%) is too little money for the amount of work you'll have to do.

And I'm not even mentioning difficult clients who want extreme professionalism and met deadlines which will put a lot of stress on you. And I'm also not mentioning the fact that many clients will not give you 1 page of content to optimize and build a few links to, which you can then call a project. Many of those projects will have 1000s upon 1000s of pages that need to be optimized, so you're gonna spend days or weeks doing this for 1 project alone (can you imagine being forced to deliver 10 such projects in 1 week), not to mention the link building which will also take a lot of outreach and negotiating with other webmasters, and keeping track of everything and engaging with people and so on...

That's a whole lot of work for $18 per project. I would not do this for less than $10k a month, or for less than $50 / hour, which is why I don't take such projects in the first place. I value my mental health and freedom too much, way more than money actually...

If I were you I would tell my employer that in the beginning (when there are only a handful of projects per week / month) you're ok with 5-6% commission per project until projects start coming in consistently and until both of you figure out how to make the most out of your time, costs, and sanity.

But as more projects come in you should re-negotiate the terms of your contract so that you get paid a fixed hourly wage instead of being paid per project. Either this, or they should hire another sucker
