Hi Guys.
I am not a pro. Just try to market my own activity.
I built my wordpress website. I had few graphic issues and asked for help. Somebody who is supposed to know offered to help. He said he did not want to mess up my site so he created a test environment. I assumed he meant on a local server. Site is online and I was doing some basic on page seo and all of a sudden I see a copy of my website on serp next to mys site, on a URL http://www.blabla.com/test... The guy made a back up of my site and put it on his webspace...
I know Google hits heavily duplicate content and guess what... 24 hour later my site is gone from serp while the "test site" is still there...
I could have overoptimized with key words in the alt text, but I am afraid the main issue is that google indexed the test site pages, found all of them duplicated, but for some reason hit my website and not the copy...
Now I wander if just removing the duplicate site will recover the situation... the pages are now indexed...
And If I republish the same content on a different URL is going to be even worse... three copies of the same stuff...
Do I have to trash all the work writing content ?
Please advise..
