Please help with search engines (xenforo)

Hello,

so, I've started Xenforo forum 2 months ago, I spent time to make SE friendly description for homepage, categories and subcategories. I'm using Google Search Console to tell Google about new pages, about updates. All seems to be clean, without errors, yet it seems Google ignores me...

My problems:

• I have meta description for homepage, yet Google uses my footer text as a description in search results (but when i put site:mysite.com to google, then it's OK...)
• Google uses footer text even for categories and ignores my descriptions
• It's two months and while I see many bots on my site, Google one is really rare to see there, and it absolutely ignores new threads to this date, hardly indexing older ones

I try to be Google frinedly as possible but it's fact it's my free time hobby and I may miss some important steps. I'm not bothered by positions on Google as it will be long journey to rank higher, but I'm little confused about Google overally.
