Please help with google business

Hi all, i'm a newbie here so apols if its a silly question but i've been searching and cant find anything that helps me.

My wife has started a business and we have created a business on google. We can be found on maps so im happy with that. Ive also paid for adwords and jotted down a few keywords to help us come up on searches.

Im more interested in knowing how to tag certain services so the business comes up as a result. For e.g. if you type in skin peels leicester, plenty of businesses come up but ours don't

I understand there was tags you could add before the category change google introduced. Is this the reason that other businesses appear but ours dont.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the prompt reply Topiano. Still trying to get to grips with some of the terminology. I suspect should all be done from adwords, something which I've paid around 40 pounds and paying 1.30 a day. Its a relatively small business so couldn't go too heavy on the spend?

From what I understand I need to look in adwords and add keywords which will increase my budget, so will need to top up more $$$. Strange,I thought we'd get a few free Keywords we could add.

Do you have any links that can help me optimise this in a cost effective way. Again, thanks vm!
