Please HELP! Stuck on 2nd page of google!

I have 2 sites stuck on teh second page of google. One has competition of only 2100 sites and the other has 15000...

Here's what I've done

Basice Seo On page. 1 site has 18 backlinks the other has 36. Both are blogger accounts and on second page. Can anyone help?

Start getting you some good keyword anchored backlinks. Inside of relevant content if you can as they are usually weighted a bit heavier in the algo than sitewide links. This will get you boosted pretty good. You can also try commenting on ******** blogs (with the keywordluv or commentluv plugins) for some links.

Do social bookmarking with your keyword as a title..
Do blog commenting with your keyword as your username
Use comment Kahuna to find the commentluv blog..
Write articles and submit to article directory..
Do some internal linking with your blog...

First thing I would do is compare the content of the top three links to your content. How do they appear more related to the search then yours.

Next work on anchored links as above.

Besides some of the great suggestions given already, - Here is something that helps me. Your scenario means there are at least 10 or 12 websites ahead of you right? Or at least for the KW phrase you are focused on...

So go copy all of their titles and descriptions (keeping in mind that you are trying to improve to ranking for a few phrases, but may lose rankings for other phrases with these changes)

Once you have their titles and descriptions, you will see a pattern of kw usage that you can replicate - or reinvent - as long as it does match your actual content.

Use the phrase in an H1 heading and the first 100 words of your content (plurals included). Link to this 'focus' page from your footers on a few pages besides your sitemap page. You can't change some things like how long they have been online, or maybe matching their ad budgets, but you don't have to...

Also, find out who links to them... it is an easy link pick-up for you if they are related to your content as well. Now you are getting their same links (from 3 or 10 sites you printed).

You will soon see your organic ranking begin to take over the websites above you and it will be glorious. Remember with this type of focus that the page may lose rankings under 'other' keyword phrases it once had... But when that page ranks well for 4 versions of your top kw phrase... it is worth having it's own page.

Thanks woodstuck. So are you saying that I should also get other anchor text links in variations of my main key word? I've only been using one.

I've been getting backlinks in anchor text and both sites have been on the second page for about 2 weeks I started then I started to submit more articles and one of them(with 18 back links) dropped. It was the first site on the second page and now it is on the 4th spot on the second page. The other site is holding it's own in the same spot on the second page.. It's frustrating the hell out of me... I know that there is probably around 100 different factors that G uses but I was unde the immpession that the most back links wins... Guess I just have to Keep getting some more....one of the sites that is on the first page has 50 so I guess I'll have to wait untill I pass him and get back to you all.

Didn't take time to read everyone elses post so sorry if they said this already.

18-36 backlinks isn't much. If you got page 2 in google then it may be a fairly easy niche to rank for. Toss in the urls of the sites on the first page to a pagerank and backlink checker. Also check your site, and compare. I recommend working on getting your pagerank up and more backlinks.

the keyword you ranked page 2 for, use that when linking to your site. Go to other sites, wordpress blogs are perfect for this if they are do follow. Use your name as your anchor text (keyword phrase) and website obviously. Dont be spammy in your comment, just be on topic to their post. remember you arent trying to get traffic off this comment so dont advertise your site or anything, just post a comment like everyone else. the purpose is for the backlink with your anchor text not to get traffic from their site.

I recommend getting about 1,000 backlinks. Using an app to get these fast may get your site sand boxed. So do little spurts of 50 or 100 at a time, maybe every few days. Simply email and ask other sites in your niche to write a review of your site, and link to your site with your anchor text. A few of them may actually.. The ones that say no, it may be worth paying them 10 bucks. I wouldnt go over that, there are plenty of other sites to get free ones, but if the site has a good PR and links to it and traffic, then it may be worth some cash.

Host a contest or something. Be crafty and get them to link to your site using your anchor text. Host the contest, and in the rules say they must be linking to your site with this phrase as the link. And when you pick the winner, they must show where that link is on their site. IF they cant then they dont win and it goes to the runner up.

Pay to have a review done on a huge site. This is just an example, but JohnChow gets tons of traffic! Though he charges like $500 for a review. (I am sure you can find sites with tons of traffic that are cheaper) But spend a 100-200 bucks on a review or two on POPULAR sites. Their followers will come to your site, giving you traffic. And the bloggers on their site may follow suite and write about your site.. Also their content probably gets scraped often, meaning tons more link backs..

There are tons of ways, just have to get creative and use the leverage of the big timers if you have to.

If you have a decent CSS design you can submit it to some CSS galleries and the backlinks you get out of that can usually be pretty decent in terms of link juice.

2- Write one article niche-related (you can hire an hindi/pakistan for a few bucks), and submit it to every fcking article site...

your keyword is a quite weak, so these things can put you on first page easily

1- Use PRStorm until you get 5-10 backlinks from high-pr-pages

With these high-pg-links (PR 2+), you can easily take first page with this weak keyword...
