My boss today asked me to prepare an SEO Analysis on what is good with the website and what I can do to improve the website SEO-wise. Has anyone done this and is there specific guidelines I should go by to prepare a quality SEO report? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!

Get a copy of IBP (it's on here somewhere) it will do the report for you and tell you what to do to improve SEO. It is pretty good.

Try google, i forgot the specific domain name, but there are services like website grader that run these analysis and give you % on how good each aspect is.

First off do a position test on where the keyphrases you want to rank for are currently shown in SERP's for your sites URL... through Google, Yahoo and MSN.

Second prepare a competitive report showing where your 3-5 main competitors are ranking and what they have accomplished to get those ranks IE site size, optimization used, off page factors, social media factors..ETC

The best way to get where you want to go, if your just starting out, is to follow the leader and do up a report that covers what you will have to do to get where you want to go
