Hi, anyone can help me with this? So i have a running website with number od daily visitors and all, but i want to try difrents looks for her, like experiment with diffrents themes and stuff, but without having to put the site on "under construction". My question is how can this be done, how to make a copy of your website and test difrent themes and layouts there, and when you are satisfaid make that your main site. Can you do that on one domain? Or should i use a software as dreamweaver od something?

Any advide from some experienced web developer is apreciated.

Do it on a subdomain. Once you are satisfied with the look of the sub then move all the files over to the main.

I would suggest using the 'Duplicator' plugin, clone a copy onto a subdomain or another root domain your not using. You can play around there and edit on the live site once you decide to make a change :)

Duplicator is a good plugin.

I always find it easier to do backups/website transfer manually, plus you'll learn a heap on the way.

Export your database, download your files, make some changes to wp-config, do a find and replace using a plugin and wallah, you've duplicated and moved a domain.

Or just duplicate it onto another domain or subdomain like the person said above. Then you won't have to deal with any of that crap.

First make changes on the localhost. When you are satisfied, zipped it and extract it.

Why not use pages/elements/files which you need to edit on another host/domain and make any changes from there. You'll also have backup for later.

Make it offline and then upload it when no one are on the site, may be middle of the night.
