Please help.... how to price a seo work ?

I have a client who have a website about fashion jewelry and and he wants me to get his site to first page of google. Since this is my first time doing seo for jewelry niche I know know how much i will charge him per month. He lives in US...

one way to do it is to use the google keyword tool to find out how many searches they can expect every month from ranking number 1 for that keyword, then look at how much the average CPC is for that keyword, than do a little math. So if the keyword gets 1000 searches a month, than ranking number 1 should get them ~600-700 hits a month, in theory. And if the CPC is say $1 for that keyword, then you can explain to them that their competitors are paying around $1 for every visitor for that keyword, and then just charge a little less than that. So for this example, I would put it at around $500 a month for that keyword.

Maybe it depends to the services of seo you are going to do e.x. Branding an reputation management is more and more becoming part of seo strategy and if you will include to your strategy,you will have to change price ranges.So i advise you to separate your seo strategy or service into various patterns...

do some keyword analysis and note the search volumes.

and then work out a 3 month plan.

although jewelery is very competitive its going to take awhile to near page 1.

Please help.... how to price a seo work ?
