Please help... hosting acct suspended, all domains lost?

note, you dont own the domains, no such thing as domain ownership. They can shut you down anytime they want depending upon your violation to your contract with them.

dude even though you spammed they cant legally just take your domains... just contact them and tell them to transfer your domains to namecheap or something

Shit. So which is it? I'm already trying to get in touch with both Namecheap and Dreamhost to find out.

unless something has changed, he will also need the EEP codes for each of his domains. also, has the 60 day hold been lifted? anybody know?
i learned the hard way to always keep domain and hosting registars separate, no matter how many "free" domains you are offered at signup.

I had a non-profit domain/hosting account with dreamhost, but never used it because i dont like the control panel and doesnt work all that well with drupal.
anyway thru my own fault, i wasnt paying attention and the domain expired, it would have cost me 100 dollars to get it back from them while it was in limbo at the time, i decided no, so while waiting for the .org to become availiable, i bought the still available .com extension and was going to use that, however I decided i really still needed a .org ext came up with a better name for the non profit. I am going to use that .com extension for a totally unexpected niche. so it all came out in the end. but not having that domain in the same stable as my other domains, i lost track of it.

If the domains are in your name...and you have backed up files of the websites, then all you need to do is register with a new registrar and put in a request to change the registration to the new registrar. Many fo the large registrars (like godaddy) offer discounted or free domain migration. Then after the domains are with a new registrar, you rebuild your websites with the backed up files.

this is why I use hosting and domain from different places.

yes this is a good practice for all web masters. If our hosting account is banned, we have the domain separately. Any time we can get backups!

So..
The domains are still yours technically
Can't you just login and change the hosting server?

So what can I do you think? Email support and ask them to transfer the domains somewhere? Or get a new host and ask them to handle it?

I mean I had like 100 domains, so I don't even know what they all were, since I can't even login to my account to see them all.

So...... were you actually spamming? If so, what specifically were you doing so we don't make the same mistakes?

I think there are 2 kind of login
Login to your cpanel like yourdomain.com/cpanel
and login to your webhosting

You can't login to both?

My hosting account was permanently suspended, and with that 2 years of my life's work and my entire income. Is there any way I can get the domains back that I bought with that provider?

What are my options for recovering any of these assets?

If your hosting is suspended how come your domains gone?

Just move the domain to another host. What's your host? And what's your registrar? Never use the same for both but still you still own the domain.

Dreamhost can be mean but they're not that evil.

Talk to their forum. Ask for temporary lift of suspension while you move your domains somewhere else.

You own the domain. They have obligation to give it to you. Ask them to give you list.

yah, totally agree with that. always separate your domain registration from your hosting
btw i use namecheap to my domains i think they are better than godaddy

that's fucked up..
this is why you should always separate your domain registration from your hosting..

all my domains are registered with godaddy
all my hosting is with hostgator..

if anything happens with hostgator all I got to do is change namesevers and I'm good to go..

what rules did you break?

Same Thing Happend With Me Now My Account Is Also Suspended The Reason Is Excessive CPU Usage:(
