Refund. I think there is a serious risk that you'll be out the console and the $500 otherwise. The fact that buyer isn't even a registered user, joined 2 days before winning a $500 item, shady feedback......too many red flags to risk it IMHO. The buyer can wait to chargeback on u so even if you held the item for a week or so, you could still get burned.

AHHHH my instincts where dead on!!

the payment was reversed!

and the guy sent me an email couple nights ago asking me if i shipped his console yet.

I feel like sending him a p-p-p-playstation

You should put a brick with some talcon powder inside a parcel with a letter inside saying ANTRAX

If you have the money I mean really have the money, then ship the unit. Despite everything else you have the money so why concern yourself with anything else?

See you saved yourself some money...told u, trust your instints there normally right. I could see this a mile away...normal legit customers would have been emailing the hell out of u for there system...he decides to email u 1 week later..thinking he don't want to bother u cause he's trying to scam u and don't want to look like a scammer...but in reality he's looking like a scammer for the same reason, well im glad u saw the outcome...and u save yourself money and a huge headache

I believe there is a setting in E9bay that allows you to sell only to verified PayPal users or something like that. Also there is a setting to ship only within your own country so there are no foreign shipping addresses.
Usually when I sell expensive stuff on E9bay I sell to only those who have many comments from sellers on their profile (haven't been to E9bay in a while so I'm sketchy on the terminology and the rules may have changed).

Good thing you didn't ship it. Your instincts were correct. Personally, I only sell to verified PayPal users and ebay users with a feedback of 10 or more from different sellers. Then that is still not enough. Because PayPal will screw you if a buyer so much as sniffs loud. I have my PP account linked to a bank account that I only keep around 20 bucks in. So if they try anything funny, I'm only out the $20. Plus I have a debit card for the PP acct and go to the ATM frequently and get the cash. Once I have the cash, I make the rules!

I read your concern and here is my recommendation... As a platinum powerseller on eBay, in a situation similar to this one I recommend doing the following:

1- Don't ship the item. Contact PayPal and give them the transaction number and let them know that you will not ship the item unless they are going to protect you in the case of a chargeback or un-authorized credit card use...

2- Go to your eBay account, file a dispute against the buyer for non-payment! Yes non-payment... Close the dispute by choosing the reason that he is no longer a registered user... That will prevent them from leaving you negative feedback.

3- Hold on to the product, and if you do end up shipping it, since it is over 200.00 USD make sure you send it with signature confirmation! If you don't add that and they claim non-receipt, PayPal will take the money back...

Advice: F*** PayPal, eBay sucks ass avoid them and sell on your local cragislist... Good luck!

On November I got a chargeback of a purchase that had ended on July. Paypal asked me if I have proofs of having sent it. Of course I had. The company that send all of my packages certified it. I had also the buyer signature.
It seems that it wasn't enough for Paypal so I lost my money. Since it was only 89$ I couldn't go to the police
Damn it! :rocketwho

Everyone is lining up for a good ole' "I told you so". Funny thing is that you already had a good idea what was going down. Good for You.

you are already feeling uneasy about this sale i would take your concern to heart. If it sound like a fraud then most likely it is. You dont want to have to deal with a chargeback
