Please give me suggestions on my site

Hi,

I am building a site and I need to add content on the front page for seo purposes. What would you suggest? I am not sure where to put the content.

I know the pictures can be speed optimized, I plan on doing some spriting soon.

Any suggestions are welcome, I have kinda come to a road block with this.

Use a pic first and then add content under it.

could use a slider with a number of different slides. That way you can have loads of content on the page without it ruining the look of the page with a massive block of text:

I like the idea of adding the content under the books. If you're trying to actually sell them, you should have snippets of reviews filled with bold-ed keywords, for each book. Something like this:

1. get rid of the background and blue main body div colors. Use a tone that is green as a basis, have a floating background either photo passed via photoshop of gardening or white space. Not that wood tile.
2. The upper menu bar is disoriented, you need to have top divided into 2 sections. Move menu items to upper left, cart to lower left. Get rid of cheezy drawn characters.
3. Keep style continuity, from the main site to the forums, same layout thematically.
4. Your KB is dead, also the font selection for the menu items is not good. Dont use images for menu items, kufon only if you must.
5. All CAPS in a lot of your titles, change to all lowercase.
6. You jump right into the books, have a preview or video, or sample first.

9. Are you sure you dont want to start over with a theme that hits on a lot of elements correctly right off the bat? If you don't know how to code/css it is a better option.

Yes, you are right image optimization easy and it's ranking fast. For image ranking I will suggest you create PDF content and submit file hosting site that's very effective for you that's also generated traffic.
Some more suggestion for you:-
Use the keyword(s) in the file name
Create descriptive alt text
The right anchor text
Make sure the image matches the content

I sell ebooks on the site and they have TONS of keywords that I would love to use. Like 100 pages worth for each book. Would I be able to use them for that? How do I use them?

there is lots of room for improvement, i would maybe get a tab on the bottom with lots of content in it.
also you may want to change the slider from an image to actually having text on there aswell as the image as in its current state its completely useless to rank.
name your images correctly with the right keywords also.
You may also want to utilise the fact that you're giving away an ebook by taking emails and names for it and adding them to your mailing list to sell them more books from the niche.
