I hope this is the right forum to post this; I've looked at the list of forums, and this one seems the most appropriate. So here's the situation:

I just received a reply to one of my threads, from an Elite member accusing me of a 100% probability of AI-generated content. This is a content I spent over an hour writing by hand. I want to clarify things here, and normally I would have made this clearer by creating a list of details with numbers or something similar, but now I'm afraid that by doing that, I'll be accused of AI generation again. So here are the details:

I often share ideas that need to be explained in detail and can often reach or exceed 1000 words. These are often ideas that, even if they are sometimes simple, are often the result of days, and sometimes months, of research and reflection. So if it were really possible to generate this with AI just to post a thread here, I wouldn't see the point. However, it would help me come up with ideas faster... Anyway:

That being said, since my content is sometimes long, I write the draft in my native language, which I'm most comfortable with, and then translate it into English using Google Translate. Then, to make the text more understandable, I ask an AI to do a VERY SLIGHT EDIT—so slight, in fact, that most of the time it changes little to nothing, like the thread that sparked these accusations. In fact, since he accused me of having a 100% probability of AI-generated content, I tested it by copying and pasting the thread starter into an AI detector, and the result was a 100% probability of human-generated content.

I admit that months ago, I published a few starter threads where my final step was to rewrite my text in a more copy-like style, rather than simply making light edits as I do now. My goal was to make the content easier for other members to consume.

So if this member looked at my profile and old threads, given the way it's edited, and thought it was sloppy AI without reading, I understand the misunderstanding.

However, later, after reading other threads, I realized this practice isn't appreciated here. So I switched to the light editing option, which corrects almost nothing and often leaves my draft untouched.

The problem is that I'm being accused of generating 100% AI-generated content, even with my manual drafts are literally copied and pasted (after translation). I literally spend an hour or more writing each one, and these kinds of accusations really sadden me.

BHW is probably the only place on the internet where I actually want to follow the rules, and now I'm afraid of unknowingly doing something stupid, or being accused of something I didn't do.

Please help me understand what I should do? I'm at the point of considering screencasting my screen while I'm writing my drafts and posting the video as an embed or GIF with each thread starter to prove my honesty.

It's up to staff members to deal with matters that you describe. If another member is bothering you then the best thing for you to do is report them and we'll look into it.

AI content is not banned on BHW - but it is heavily abused. It is that abuse that we do not allow. The constant pumping out of meaningless automated responses is absolutely against the rules and we encourage members to report it.

Cases like yours are absolutely fine and your use of AI to help you with translation and grammar is something we are happy to accept from our (many) members for whom English is not their native language. I've seen the thread / post you're referring to and it meets with your approval. Do not engage with the other member as I will clean said thread up and you've explained yourself well.

Thank you, that's reassuring because it confirms what I understood. The staff here are really responsive and competent. I'll do as you said. See you soon.
