This is why we uses stealth paypal/ebay/amazon accounts for such business. Sell and move strategy.

You probably buy things at a markup too. Do you purchase items directly from your local supermarket or do you individually go through their suppliers to get your goods at a cheaper price?

Going to the suppliers would actually cost me time and money in transportation. Doing a google search takes a few seconds and costs nothing.

Dropshipping can also be done with agreements with distributors. Probably harder to do than just arbitraging Aliexpress but a friend of mine does this with rings. They have price floors so people can't just drop the price to cut out competition so then it becomes just a marketing competition.

It certainly works, but doing it that way is not a "get rich quick" or "one-click" solution.

With something as saturated as drop-shipping though, your brother was either in the game for some time and had a lot of experience, or he found a product that didnt have much reach, thats the name of this game, to show audiences who are newish with newer item. Either that or build an authority site which takes months if not years lol

Not easy to make money with this, the biggest problem is not finding products to sell, but finding TARGETED audiences. Most use facebook ads, but this is not targeted at all. There is not a buyer audience there, people go there for fun and connecting with friends, if someone wants to buy he goes to a BUYING site like ebay or amazon.
So this targeting does not really work, you only target FANS and not buyers. Just because someone is a batman FAN he is not also a person who BUYS e.g. a batman keychain.
