Please answer my question about unique content

Hello friends, I am rewriting PLR articles for posting on my blogs. I want to know that what is the minimum requirement for uniqueness (in %) in content to avoid duplicate content penalties??

The percentage varies from person to person since nobody really knows that actual amount.

The best way to find a good percentage is through your own testing. But I would make sure it's at least 30%+.

As far as duplicate content goes - yes, just a myth. The worst that will happen is some of your duplicated content will get filtered out.

Your site won't get some type of hefty penalty from Google.

I think it's about 30%-40% will be good enough.

A good way to make changes to PLR articles for your blogs is to split up one article into many posts.

You can even cut and mix them as well as add some of your own content into them.

Thank you friends for your suggestions but I am still confused about it. If I rewrite PLR articles and make them unique between 30%-40% then what you think? Is is ok for me?

Try mixing two articles from different sources into one, and adding two paragraphs with your own words on first and third position.

I also don't believe in a duplicate content penalty. There are only so many ways to express an idea, especially a news story.

I would also agree with 30%, but if it makes you feel better, re-write it until it passes copyscape.

0% - you don't need to worry about duplicate content across sites/domains.

There is a concern with dup content within a domain from Google and Yahoo's view. MSN is a little more forgiving.

If two pages within the same domain have similar/identical content then usually only 1 will show. Usually.

This was a "big" issue with adsense page generators that used text snippet jumbling to make pages. People would use too small of a snippet space and then try and generate 1000s of pages from a small sample of snippets.

Google uses some variant of a shingling algorithm to detect duplicate content intra-site. I've heard numbers like 8 to 16 for the shingle and I am personally of the opinion that it is roughly in that range.

I've used 100% republished content on sites, gotten links to those sites, and ranked for those terms. If there is a dup content penalty across the internet then it is smaller than what most linking campaigns give you in strength.

All that said, if you are worried about this then rewrite each paragraph of the PLR and aim for 30%+ variation.

I f you want to pass copyscape it isn't about "%" its about NOT having a whole sentence the same as the original.so as long as you change 2-3 words in each sentence you well be good.
