First off, I know this is a dumb question, so if you wanna make fun of me go ahead lmao. I'm asking here because quora has been zero help, so if anyone here could help me with this simple question, I would really really appreciate it. Grammar has never been my strong suit,
obviously, haha

I’m kinda having a simple grammar issue. I was in a conversation with someone and I ended with three dots as in …..Maybe. My question is should the “M” after the dots be capitalized or lowercase.

Thanks so much!

Search on Google Play Store (Android app) : "Learn English Grammar", by British Council, to start practising grammar with different topics from beginner to advanced levels and their "About this app" mentions "Our premium grammar app LearnEnglish Grammar is now 100% FREE".
You can find other apps also on Google Play Store to learn english grammar.

The three dots are known as an ellipsis. Lowercase would be normal after it's used, and you can read up more if you search the term regarding its formal use cases.

I really really appreciate your reply, but unfortunately I don't have an android phone or anything related.

But again, thank you. A reply really does mean a lot.

Gotcha, I'm pretty certain I understand now.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to answer not the brightest question in the world, but it means a lot to me.

@djmorgan , there are online web based platforms also to check grammar. One of the good one is Grammarly. At the BHW Marketplace you can get Grammarly Premium Business at reasonable price(s).

Exception to this rule above me: if the word that continues the sentence is a proper noun, it must start in capital letter.

It depends on what follows the ellipsis. If the text that follows the ellipsis continues the same sentence, the word after the ellipsis is not capitalized. If the text that follows the ellipsis begins a new sentence, it would be capitalized.

I'd say if in doubt, consider using a comma instead of an ellipsis.

my advice you can
train on grammer app and to talk very well and understand the meanings watch a videos or films without tranlastion subtitle
so you can learn and be a very good

You practice your Grammer on various apps or platforms. I recommend downloading an app by the name of Learn English Grammer by British Council. Its interface is really easy to understand and use. Additionally, you can watch different YouTube videos to get grammer lessons.

You do not capitalize a word following an ellipsis. Only when you are citing text and are omitting part of the sentence.

I will definitely be using those apps in the future, thank you for the help and for being so kind.

why not use an app like grammarly?

I don't consider myself to be the best person at Grammar but I also don't consider myself to be the worst.

In my opinion you're taking this way too serious I don't think it matters if it's capitalized or lowercase but I will disagree with people that are saying it should be lowercase I would say it should be capitalized if anything.

As you can probably tell I didn't use any app to come up with this answer it's just from my knowledge of the English language.
