Hey guys,
found an interesting post on reddit about a playlist bug used by Russian YouTubers to cheat their videos in the trending tab.
I hope it's not a problem if I quote the post here:
"Well, by default with auto play function in playlists YouTube doesn’t count the views, but if you create playlist with 2 videos and start this playlist from the end of first video views will not count for the first video, but will count for the second. And that’s how people cheat in trending tab, someone create dummy site that have embedded playlist with two videos, where the second video is the video that’s should be in YouTube trends, then they find popular web sites and admins who want and ask them to put invisible iframe on their website which then will load the dummy site with playlist to this Iframe and play it without sound in the background. This was posted in Russian YouTube recently with examples of sites that embed playlists and quite popular websites who had that iframe with shady sites in their code. And this scheme was leaked by the guy who actually have money from this, so he probably found another bug that allow cheating and now just wants to ruin his opponents business"
Do you think this method still works? Has anyone tried the method successfully?
