    Hi everyone,

I'm not exactly sure where to post this but I'm trying to start my own blog to make money of course, but I'm not sure what platform to use. I want it to be able to have email sign ups as well. From what I understand most people use wordpress?

I wanted a blog that could be functional like this website, leanerbydesign (I can't post links - not trying to spam so please google it)

How do I go around getting this? Where he has adds on the side and a bar at the top and etc, what would be the best platform?

Any platform works just fine. If you are getting started, WordPress is probably the easiest route. Once you got wordpress installed, either browse through the free themes or simply go to any website that provides premium themes (a much better option).

From there its all about checking what you like and playing around with it all. Either that or just hire someone to DIFY

Also, get proper hosting for Wordpress. Hosted Wordpress (wordpress.com) does not have many features that you can have when having a self-hosted installation of it.

I think at the starting wordpress will be the perfect one. First start with wordpress and then you can switch to any platform.

Wordpress is always the answer. Get your own domain and hosting, don't use wordpress.com.
