Planning to get a VPN setup - any tips?

Hi crew! I'm planning to get a VPN setup on a VPS I have. I want to run multiple PP accounts, amongst others, and want the level of security a VPN would provide for https connections. I will get it setup with 5-10 IP's and all this on an Australian server. I'm going to this length as I can't find any VPS service providers for Oz. I plan to post the job on get a freelancer etc. and hoping too it can all be done with open source scripts.
Any tips or pointers anyone can provide?

Here you go....

This software creates a virtual "cloud" of multipoint connections with anything you authorize. It's VERY powerful, and Open Source. I have servers on four continents acting as a single network with this stuff.

Hey thanks heaps for the reply and the link! Reading it through I can barely understand what it actually does - bit geekspeak for me - but maybe it can do what I need. I'll let whatever freelancer I eventually get guide me to the right choice.
So would it enable me to run a 'pass through' type VPN, allowing the user to then surf the external net with a new IP?
And would it allow multiple dedicated IP's to be configured on the server?

In a word.. YES.

The longer answer is that you can set this up on two or more machines located anywhere and have all the machines act as though they're connected in the same rack on a local network. By having multiple public IP's you can then guide traffic in/out wherever you want.

Point your freelancer and tell him how you want it to act. Good ones will know what to do.

Thanks again 4alllifestyles. It really does sound like it would be a good platform for my purposes. I wouldn't need the multi server features but if it is more easily configurable for multiple dedicated IP's than openvpn then thats a good thing. Cheers for your input!
