I have a few sites that I will be doing a lot of press releases using pr web in the coming days. I am planning to buy their annual package that is being quoted at 3000 USD per year for pr web advanced. I will publishing 1 press release a day on an average. Do you think this is a good deal or I can find something better by getting a shared account from somewhere.

We recently did a PRWeb press release for a client and we got almost two dozen permanent placement on regional and industry news sites. Each article had two links to our website; one link to a specific product and the other to our home page. We have not received a boost in rankings and recently Matt Cutts mentioned that press releases should not affect your rankings positively or negatively. We got a slight boost in traffic from increased brand searches and a little more referral traffic. That being said we have not pulled the trigger on doing more or getting a PRWeb subscription.

If you can get a shared account, pay less, but get the same level of service then I say go for it. Be sure to report back if it helps increase your sales.
 
Press releases are just a small part of a complete seo campaign.
Unless you do it for traffic,I don't see the reason for that investment.
 
If you are going to do a press release a day and press releases are a big part of your business then its worth it....Works out at $8.50 ish a release. I didnt think you could get a proper press release for under $20 but even if you can off fiverr its guaranteed to be an embarassment. Im sure there are some extras like access to account managers etc that make a membership more appealing.
 
You are paying $3,000 for the annual prweb subscription. At one press release per day, you are looking at another $3,000 in press release content costs over an year.

You need to ask yourself, will you gain enough traffic to make back $6,000 and tens of hours in time?

If the answer is yes, then its worth it.

We don't know your niche, your conversion rates or anything much so we aren't in a position to answer this for you.
 
My link building is quite diversified and consists of bookmarks, web2.0, article directories, wikis,docshare, microblogs, edu profiles, high pr forum profiles, yahoo answers, pad sites,audio sites, infographics sites, blog comments and forum posts. These are tier 1 which are further supported by variety of links on tier 2. I was expecting that prweb would get me some links from authority sites which might not help in serps but protect me from any penalty. I am expecting some direct traffic too but will not spend this much for direct traffic only. I checked on fiverr. There is nobody giving prweb service. Maybe I should start that too as a side business to recover my costs ;-)

MarketersMedia, always. They have great distribution, lots of links love, yearly plan, better than PRWeb.
 
If you move you subscription to premium, and can do as many as you want, I will be your customer. (price dependent)

Does it also cost you per release if you are a subscriber?
 
Just took a look at Marketsmedia's site, and I agree it looks like a much better deal than PRWeb (a starter pack of $199 or $699 beats a stiff $3000 fee) and has the same potential distribution outcome (Google news, AP, et al). 2-5 people could easily JV to afford to try out the $199 deal in exchange for each getting at least 1 press release published through them.

Best decision for planning to buy PRweb subscription. You'll get some authority too.
