Piwik Users: How important is it to hide your server url?

I've decided to give piwik another try recently as I am slowly pulling all my site off of google analytics but I have one small concern. I noticed using the standard javascript tracker that there is a very evident footprint in the source code.

I found the faq on how to use a local php file to "cloak" the server address but this technique doesn't seem to be working well on my shared server. Have any of you ran into issues NOT cloaking your tracker url or is this not really a valid concern?

Seems my server doesn't like the "allow_url_fopen = On" part. I don't do any php programming so I'm not sure, but I've been told my several others that allow_url_fopen = On can actually be a security risk as well. Lesser of two evils ?
