Hi guys, just a quick one today.

Would you say links to your site in your posts or pins count as back links and if so, do they hold any value?

Thank you in advance for your time,

James :)

Tumbr was used to be a great source of link juice and real targeted visitors, but with their new setup clickthru links are no longer clickable by users who are logged into tumblr. Only, external visitors are reaching your websites. However, Pinterest still gives credit to websites and links to them. The juice is thin, but depending on popularity of your niche and content, traffic can be excellent.

Thanks for that. Didn't know that about Tumblr.

They changed the entire process of posting and browsing photos about a month ago. It forces people to actually post links inside their articles rather than forwarding clicks to links on images.

Still worth hitting though, right?

James :)

Pinerest and tumblr are the good social networking sites.
These sites are very helpful for getting good traffic on your site as well as backlinks.

Sorry infoasian,

But I don't think I understand. Tumblr still allows click thru's you just have to post the link differently.
Basically after you upload the picture, hover over your picture slightly and you will see a picture of a link in the upper right hand corner.

Click that, and it will allow you to put in the click thru link. Once you save the post, if anyone clicks the picture, it will go straight through to your website just like pinterest.

Both of them have a good power for ranking. For Pinterest, will be better if your kw attract to reader with attractive topic, images..

Yes, but when tumblr members browse their feeds and click on images they are no longer forwarded to click thru url. This means less visitors. The click thru url is mentioned below image and you need to click on it in order to visit url. Most users will not know that.
