Just wanted some help/advice from experienced Pinners on some things:

1. How crucial is picture quality for followers, re-pins, and clickthroughs to your money site? Since pinterest is solely pictures I am assuming it is a popularity contest for clicks/re-pins based on which pictures in each niche are the prettiest/highest resolution?

2. When starting off, is the best way to go about things, is to be building a few boards solely off re-pinning things in your niche and then following those people -- then waiting till you get like 100 followers before pinning any of your own stuff on your boards?

3. Again when starting, is one account manually doing things until you start getting followers the best? Or can you start lightly using bots across multiple accounts from the get go?

1. yes image quality is important but not super important just don;t make it look like spam imo. pick images to 'fit in' is what I do rather than something amazing.

2. I've been mixing it up, but ye I aimed not to pin all my own stuff, but now I'll try creeping some more in.

3. I make bots with zennoposter and my general rule of thumb is work out how to do it manually then automate. That doesn't necessarily means weeks, I get an idea in a day or so and then start making a bot.

I use iMacros.

One for followback people that followed me, and anohter for automatize the repin and change link process.

With social network sites, the key word to remember is 'social'. That might seem like common sense, but on that site, just as Facebook, it's all about the connections you create with other users. Repins from other users will help you gain favor with not only that person but their audience. You could easily pin one image from each of 100 related niche pinboards. Follow those people and you'll likely get a follow back as that person will be flattered that you considered their content good enough to repin. Other ways to be social on Pinterest, including commenting on Pins/boards. This will also expose your own boards to that person's followers.
