How do people use pinterest to draw traffic to their sites? I have people having immense success doing so.

Totally depends on the niche and the content that you are going to upload.
Also its really basic stuff too if you profile has good views eventually your sites will get the same if you are active and pinning proper content.

They use to, lately you will need to put a lot of effort to drive traffic.
Pinterest wants you to buy traffic pinterest via ads so do twitter.
Start with converting your pinterest profile to business profile and verifying the site.
I use it only for social signal with pinflux 2.

This are old set farmed accounts.
Hard to do this nowadays.

It is difficult to drive traffic from Pinterest these days, but another thing to know is that most the audiences are females. You have to check if it is worth it or not.

Pinterest changed quite a bit when it comes to group pins

Now, they factor in engagement so it's a little bit trickier to get traffic

It is really hard to that now, but linking the site can help you drive traffic from there to you website it all depends on your niche and content, the most viral contents now there are clothing, architecture, DYI and photography since those are the most searched content but it is really hard with that platform, check the hire a freelancer section to see if someone can help you more with that.

Every image you post can have a target link attached to it. Anyone that clicks that image/link will go to your site, or wherever your link leads them to. So, it's all about the images you post, the titles/descriptions you use (which should be relevant to the image) and of course the domain/link you attach to the pin. They should all relate to each other.

The hard part...these days...is Pinterest ranking your images so that people see them. And therefore have a chance to click those links to get to your site. And as blackbeans said, engagement plays a big part in ranking. If the audience doesn't engage with your images, then Pinterest will drop your image impressions like a stone.

I know some may not agree, but one thing you can do to improve your impressions and engagement is to use idea pins. You can't attach a link to idea pins, but they are good for driving your impressions and engagement higher than normal pins would. So mix in idea pins with normal pins and see how it goes.

Hope that helps.

I have 2.8k account and it get me some visits to my site. Seems more followers more traffic

Making seo

Uploading pics it's not enough now. You have to use a seo friendly picname, use the right keywords on title, write a good copy in description

You have to use the new content formats (carousel and story) to increase your boards rank

To get more traffic on Pinterest now, make sure you find a way to boost engagement
