Pinterest Manual Pinning vs Scheduling Posting

There are a lot of opinions on whether Pinterest prefers manually pinned content or scheduled content.

For those actively managing Pinterest accounts, have you noticed any difference in performance between manual pinning and using scheduling tools? Have you tested both methods?

Would be great if members could share their results and observations.

Tested both pretty heavily across a few seasonal accounts last year. Honestly the manual vs scheduled debate is kinda overblown imo... Pinterest doesnt really "see" how the pin got there, it sees the timing, the consistency and the engagement after. What actually moved the needle for me was spacing pins out instead of dumping 20 at once.

Scheduled tools made my life easier but I noticed when I leaned 100% on Tailwind my reach got a bit flatter over time. Mixed in some manual pins during peak hours and it picked back up. No idea if thats correlation or just me, but it lined up too often to ignore.

So nah, dont think Pinterest punishes scheduling. It punishes inconsistency and bad timing. If your scheduled pins go out at dead hours youll blame the tool when really its the slot. @Thomas Davis if you do test it, keep everything else identical and only change pin method, otherwise you wont learn anything useful.

they both drive traffic either way with maybe 1 out reaching the other

Our scheduled pins perform just as well for long-term traffic as manual ones. However, we still manually pin new trends and Idea Pins to get a quick engagement boost.

I do a mix of both, haven't noticed significant difference that suggests either is better. Your niche, keyword, pin designs and posting frequency matter more than the medium used in posting.

In my opinion one thing mentioned is avoiding spammy behaviour. whether manual or scheduled, posting too aggresively or repeating similar pins too much can hurt performance.
