Hello,

i have conducted several tests on following people from my niche.

Test 1: ~5% followback - 3 days
source: Pin likes page, at 11:30am UTC

Test 2: ~5.5% followback - 4 days
source: Pin likes page, at 9pm UTC

the pins are related to my niche so the likes in the pin should be people targetted to my niche also.

Any suggestion on improving that without wasting a month on testing?
This is a big problem cause i need around 2000 to get a 100 followers.. dafuq?!

You probably don't have an attractive account. It's also much harder to gain followers on business accounts I've noticed - you can't just fill them with stupid boards or you look like a bad business, but having a quotes board or a board with pictures of pretty places help get followers. I had a rough patch where my follow back was rather low, maybe it's pinterest playing with algorithms or maybe I just scraped a lot of fake accounts.

also, the more followers you have the easier it gets to attract new followers.

Its something to do with pinterest algo.

Its effecting EVERYONE, for me pinterest had the highest follow back rate of any social media site.

My followback rate was 30%+ and now im getting around 5%

I have spoke to many and it seems pinterest did something in their algo to lower the followback rate

You need to test, and apparently have you seen what pins and posts in your niche went viral already? Your problem is a lack of information on your followers and your niche, as in you assume the content you post is going to motivate people to click or share or like or comment on your stuff, it does not. Copy stuff from The Talk, Buzzfeed, etc sites like that as they have psychology mastered down to a science. They attract the right audience, know what that audience wants to like and share, and just throw ads at the audience (in this case you'll throw ads at the audience that you know will get them to buy).

I only post popular pins in my niches through couple of keywords. The pins that i repin are at least 200 times repinned and 200 likes. I make 20 repins and 20 likes per day and 200 follows. So i think the content is attractive enough. My accounts don't look fake. They always have boards of funny pictures and things of interest. but i only have 5 boards. should i have more?

are you both getting better results? do you mind sharing?

Have you tried repin/like/follow board/follow account for the same user? The reason for this is that you'll end up showing up more in that user's upper right dropdown. It might make them more curious about you. If you're only following, then there's a good chance you're not being seen enough since the dropdown only shows only 2 followers at a time (e.g. follower1, follower2 and 20 others is now following you).

I'm not into Pinterest much, just been helping someone recently.
5% sounds low, I get about 10%.

Then again, the person I'm helping doesnt repin, she pins novel stuff. This might be the difference.

very nice twist. i though of this like liking 3 of his pins before following! but following individual boards is also a gd one :D i'm gonna try this asap! is it working good for you?

how much followers does she already have? and from where are you scraping the users?

Got her to 1000, this was the agreement. I get them from the second tier of major brands, e.q. repinners of the repinners.

How many business accounts have you tested that theory on? Very interesting to say the least.

I've been doing alright with pinterest, I've been making 300-500 a month and made 1400 for December. I need to scale it up but I also don't want to do anything to get my domain or accounts banned. Taking it slow.

I've had 3 business accounts for different sites, they all lagged behind "personal" accounts with fake female persona. I've grown a fake "personal" account to over 1000 followers in 1 day, meanwhile my largest business account is only at around 7000 followers ever (around 8 months) - following users scraped at the same time. The website associated with the largest account gets 1000-2000 views a day from Pinterest too, so the content is engaging them but not the account with only that content.

What method do you use to scrape potential followers? Do you then follow them manually or do you use a bot? Thanks :peace:

wait a second, 1000 followers? ok whats the followback ratio on this? 10%? so you followed 10,000 people in one single day?

Care to explain ?

I think this is what we have to do now because just following is not working anymore.

If anyone can test the above please do and let us know the followback rate.

How on earth is this a case study? You've conducted 2 tests, in one niche that you don't reveal. That's too little information to call this a case study.

my tests are not..the whole post should become a case study in order to increase the followback ration in pinterest ;)

I'm getting way more than 30% FB across 60 accounts. Something must be wrong with your scrapping settings
