    Hi All,

    Just read that Pinterest is stripping the tags out of Amazon affiliate links. Anyone experiencing this yet? If so have you attempted to cloak your links?

    If you have cloaked your links, how did you do it and is it working for you on your pins?

    Thanks in advance

    This is quite old news. Just send them to a landing page with useful content with Amazon ads on.

    Pinterest is learning quickly. Instead of using "GoogleCash" method to send traffic directly to merchant site using your affiliate link, add value to it.

    Code:
    [B]http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/product/Your Affiliat ID/[/B]
    , but still got striped.

    Just put the picture on a .php page, pin it and then set the header of the page to your amazon affiliate link. I don't know how Pinterest deals with this but it should work.

    You guys should at least make an honest effort to provide people with quality content BEFORE squeezing the $$$ outta them!

    Moreover, by setting up a landing page, you obtain the oppertunity to:

    1. Gather emails

    2. Lock content

    3. Make money with Adsense

    4. Increase views of a related YT video

    Ultimately, EVERYBODY wins.

    Go the extra mile folks, you won't be disppointed. ;)

    Learn from here if you are lazy.
    Just do a domain redirect like:
    domain.com/product/product-id

    Did you try that before making everyone lazy ?

    Blocked this two IP's from cPanel - 107.21.110.219 & 50.17.248.120 - but still pinterest detects my redirect and strips my affiliate id.

    Can you elaborate a little how to do this ?

    1. Make a .php page on your website and name it whatever the product is you are pinning to pinterest like "xbox.php". Then take the picture of the xbox from amazon and put it on your page like so...
    <img src="xbox.jpg">

    2. Pin the picture to pinterest.

    3. After the picture is pinned, add this code to your php page.
    <?php header('location: amazon.com/youraffiliatelink'); ?>

    Now it should work just like before when Pinterest wasn't stripping affiliate links.

    You can also make this page work for multiple products instead of creating a new php page every time.

    <?php
    $asin = $_GET['asin'];
    header('location: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/<?php echo $asin; ?>/affiliatecode');
    ?>

    Then just go to http://www.yourdomain.com/xbox.php?asin=ASINCODE and pin. You would have to disable the php and add a new image everytime you want to pin a new product. I don't know if this works with Pinterest but it should.

    EDIT: If Pinterest blocks the header redirect you can try a meta refresh.

    How do you get Pintrest IP's and how do you block them. I am not sure how to do what you are telling us, would like more information if you can.

    Sorry, I made a mistake in the code above. You can't have php tag's inside eachother. Here is what the header code should look like:

    <?php
    header('location:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/' . $asin . '/affiliatecode');
    ?>
