I have a few questions in regards to Pinterest following limits. Yesterday I got a message that said I couldn't follow any more people. Today I can follow more people. Will they close my account if I receive this message too often? Does the amount of people that follow me have any impact on how many people I can follow? I'm thinking along the lines of how Twitters limits the amount of users you can follow based on the number of followers you have. Does Pinterest do the same thing or is it totally different?

The following/unfollowing limits depends on how many followers you have. For example on my main account(~80k followers) I have a following limit of 200/hour and unfollowing of 250/hour, and on a new account I started a month ago my following/unfollowing limit is below 200.

I don't know if this answers your question but you can follow maximum 50k people, after that, if you want to follow more people you have to unfollow some of the 50k.
Pinterest doesn't ban you if you reaching your following limit for the hour. You only get a popup with this message: "Sorry! You've hit a block (unfollowing) we have in place to combat spam. Please try again late" You have to wait an hour and after that you can start following people again.
