Pinterest Clone - Which is more stable and reliable

Hi All,
I have been thinking of creating a pinterest clone, but I wanted to ask if anybody has any experience. My main question is:
Which pinterest clone is the fastest and more stable clone?


if by pure luck I had to grow overnight to 15 000 users (like other clones have) with 100 images each. Thant would be 1 500 000 images which clone would be robust enough to hold such a size?
or is it down to the hosting company? If I have a very strong and reliable host, would this overcome clones that are not coded properly?


Pinme seems to be based on Magento, looks strong but I installed it and it seems slow to move from one image to another.


pinclone and pinboard are based on wordpress, is wordpress stable for such a big site?


which clones do you suggest and why?




I don't want to start with a bad site that will shy ayaw customers from the begining.

Nice thank You. i am now debating if using a Drupal based script or Joomla based script.
I think these will be the stabler

it is impossible to create a clone?? and you need to maintain it.

If you go with drupal or joomla, make sure you know them in and out, as the maintenance will be pain in ass.

Best is to use a custom developed script or if you go with a cms you should be master in that CMS.

I have launched a similar project but did it with my custom code and with a perfect marketing plan based on social media and made decent bucks with it.

Thank you indianbill007, for the good advice. unfortunately like all novices I learned wordpress inside out.
I have looked into buying a script and installed various nulled scripts on various domains I have. (same host , same server)
the pinterest clone that outperformed (speed - as this is very important to not loose clients) was the drupal theme (pinterest clone by themesnap.com/pinboard). It is true it needs a bit of tweeking, but researching yesterday seems that there is a huge community of drupal.


Once it is setup, I will have to do a full imersion to learn how the theme works.


I value your advice, as my limited knowledge is my majour fear, and the need to rely on others.




I am currently looking for VPS hosting as I want the site to be extremely fast. My very first internet project was built on wordpress. It makes money but I had to tweek a lot of things, It has slowed down. Also I host it on hostgator. Thank God. as the servers are good. and keeps the performance up. It was initially hosted on a small host, and it was a nightmare. it would take 40 seciond for a page to load.
