Hi , i started my new pinterest account recently , and i've posted some videos. I've noticed something but i'm not sure , it seems that if you put a video with a link it gets less views than if you put it without link.

So is it a good strategy to post the video without link and when it go viral you add the link ?

I'm thinking maybe people are more attracted to those pins if they don't already contain a link because they say to themselves that it's not promotion , so this initial boost gives a start for it to grow more and then to add the link ?

If anyone has any insight on this , thank you!

The bottomline is that Pinterest now wants the user to remain on THEIR platform, "user retention" and "controllable distribution" are the new buzz words.....so, you need to grow your account engagement ON the platform using Story Pins and non-exit link Video Pins, then your exit-link clicks will dramatically increase.

The days of just plundering traffic from Pinterest are over....you have to give now to receive reward.

Hey , not really , I'm still building a plan that I will start to execute soon

Hey thank you for this answer. So from my understanding, the best would be to keep a certain ratio of: Giving/Taking so for example 90% of pin doesn't link to my website but 10% links to it , that way I will have the most reward from the algorithm ? Do you have any sweet spot you've found?

Does anybody know how to bulk apply Pinterest apps? I want to use their apps to send images

1. Don't Repin - the value of repinning has been decreased.
2. New & Fresh Pins - create new Image Pins rather than just re-gurgitating existing ones, add your links to 100% of your Image Pins.
3. Video/ Story Pins - keep on creating them, they will help gather momentum for your accounts, account age, trust and authority will help drive your future success.
4. Pinterest Long Game - IF you get instant traction and results from new Image Pins, enjoy them, they are not the norm now, aged Image Pins over 6 months old now drive considerably more traffic than new pins.

I did some tests. The popularity of the video is 8 times that of the picture. I don’t know what the story pin looks like.

Hi, interesting to know your latest research o putting a link on your video pin vs not putting a link. I think from Pinterest's perspective there is no effect correlation on your video impression when you add a link on your video pin or not. Since all top blogger websites, they get a million monthly views on their Pinterest account by adding a link on all of their pins.

If you want to get more view and engagement on your video pin try to create an engaged video pin that makes people want to repin, like "How to xxx" video and "Top 10 xxx" video, hence people will stop scrolling when seeing your video n due to curiosity on your video content.

Do you have an update to report? Any conclusive findings?
