Pinterest adsense question

cool, but i am having trouble getting into group boards
Yes it also took me a while until I got invited to the big boards. You have to be persistent and from my experience the easiest way to get into some boards is to find a board which only requires you to write an email to the board owner. Then you can talk to him/her directly and state your reasons why you wanna join this very board. Read through the requirements of the boards. A lot of these ask you to write on some of their pins to get an invite. These are unfortunately the ones which are the hardest to get in because especially with the 10k + boards it is very likely that tons of people have already written a message to the board owner below and after a while the owners simply ignore their pins. I never had luck with these kind of requirements. But email requirements for invites or requirements where you have to fill out a form for the board owner worked for me a few times. You just have to "apply" to a high number of these boards and some will let you in. Don't forget that your profile has to look very authentic. Just use a real photo of someone as your profile pic, write a text about why cooking is your passion blablabla and then create a few boards yourself and add at least more than five pins to each board. Good luck!

how many followers do you have now?
i am also planning to use your method(pin the same picture to different boards),but i am worried that if i pin one picture to different boards(like pin 1 picture to 10 boards),then my followers's front page will be loaded up with 10 same pictures,is this true?
if it's true,it's not annoying but also leaving a "spammer" target on my back.

lol I only have 8 followers. I think you make a very valid point about spamming the boards of your followers. I really haven't thought about this. So you definitely should not do this when you have a lot of followers or when you rely on your followers to draw your traffic. But, I obviously don't rely on my followers at all (yet) since the only traffic I get is from the boards and by posting on them I get about 1 follower every two weeks. Maybe this will increase with traffic and I will change my method. But I started to pin different pics on each board last week and this week I started to pin one pic on more boards than one and this turned out to be so much more efficient in terms of traffic. And a lot of the recipe boards do not have a 24 h limit, so for the time being I am not too worried about spamming these boards too much. Also when I look at other contributors of these boards I maybe post 1 percent of what they are posting to one board every day. So will see...

by the way,if you use blogger, you can try bluesense template, and blend the adsense with template color

Good day, and good luck on your journey. I am too trying to get this pinterest method to work. How long did it take for you to be approved to adsense? Which kind of template do you use in blogger if i may ask? Because i thought you had to pin like at least 50 pics from your blogger to pinterest to see some traffic...And i keep looking on the web for Grid Templates like pinterest, but am still wrestling with the html in blogger to get the dam pics to be acceptable in size...still very noob here but improving :p.... In regards to the copied content, did you go to a recipe site and copied all the content from that site or do you go to different sites looking for what you want?

Thanks and have a nice day...

thanks. I am currently in a testing phase with different templates and themes. Definittly gonna try this one out as well!

thank you! It actually took me only a few days till I got approved by adsense (3-4). But I applied directly via blogger, maybe that's the reason, I don't know. Because Blogger with its ready made gadgets and integrated adsense page is practically begging you to apply for adsense. And in hindsight I really wonder why they even approved me in the first place because I have a lot of cpa content on my blogger for niches which should be highly alarming to adsense. But instead of banning me, what adsense did, was simply that my ads do not show up on these blogs while I have no trouble putting up my ads on my regular recipe/how to blogs. Maybe that's also the reason why I am a bit reckless with copied content. But yeah I copied the content from other recipe sites. And I use recipes which look very unique and eye catching to get people's attention.

And honestly I am more of a noob than you. I do not even know anything about html. I just copied the images into my blogger posts and edited their size by clicking on them. Why did you use the html edit for images? Is there sth. I am missing? Also I just used the simple ready made template from blogger. That's it. But I am currently trying out the other ready made templates, to see if they are more effective in terms of ad placement. However when it comes to traffic, the key to this whole method is simply the big community boards (preferably 10k+). Find the right ones where you can pin without limit and then just keep on pinning and the traffic is gonna be insane. There is not really any other trick to it. I think the 50 pic thing might only be true if you are growing your traffic from your followers. I tried this, but for me personally this was just too much effort and went too slow since I found out that people are veeery lazy to follow you on pinterst except if your account is "special", which mine is not. I get more than 1000 visitors a day now from about pinning half an hour on group boards, I get numerous repins but this week only one person followed me (wtf?).

blogger is crap, use wordpress.
you can customize it much more.
what works for me is 728 x 90 above content and 300 x 250 to the right of content.

yeah you're right. I sort of know that blogger isn't great. But I only started with it because I was/am such a lazy noob, so I wanted to go for the most basic one, which was of course blogger. But I agree I will have to switch eventually.
And thanks for the placement advice. I will try it later since I have started a placement testing phase today :)

Hello, just read your answer to my question and i think im over complicating this method a bit. I dont have a blog in recipes yet, i have in fashion, hairstyles etc but dont get much traffic with the method of pinning from the blog to pinterest. I think ill create a blog at wordpress focusing on recipes and pinning to large boards...with copied content..ive also downloaded a ebook on recipes, think ill maybe use some of the recipes there and search on google for eye cacthing images related to the recipe. The "Large boards" term is quite new to me, and dont really know how to search them on pinterest, but will google it in a while. The thing with blogger html was that i was trying to get a template similar to pinterest, and when i installed it, the images were not the right size because of the default template image size, i was trying to have many pictures on the 1st page of the blog ( i thought this could work well with fashion ), but like i said, im over complicating the method..

What do i do to get more followers? (not that you need this with the traffic you are seeing)

I just follow lots of people everyday, and some follow me back...im using a trick that was posted in the forum for following 100 people in 1 minute or 2.
... Keep us updated please, hope you will win some nice $ with this method..

By the way, how many posts do you have? should i make like 100 recipes and pin them? Good luck and have a nice day:)

I always thought pinterest had little value, but lots of people seem to be using it for marketing.

You have to take yourself through the user experience from start to finish. Look at it like this:

Pinterest Image (A) --> Landing Page (B) --> Offer (C)

A. Grab their interest with an image appealing to market interest

B. Link to a page all about that image

C. Monetize the page

And you can support it with D. share linked content on pinterest.

The C. part is really the difficult part because it depends on the level of traffic you are getting and which niche you're targeting. If you're getting relatively low traffic on a regular basis then there is less CPM value and you should target CPA. If you are doing higher levels of traffic then there is more CPM value but you'll kill the chances of conversions on CPA's if you have too many CPM ads on your page so you'll have to keep the number of ads to a minimum (maybe 3 or 4).

Following isn't the best way to get follow backs. Try repinning and commenting.

By the way, how many posts do you have? should i make like 100 recipes and pin them? Good luck and have a nice day:)

In my experience 100 recipes wear out, you need to keep posting new content every day to keep bringing in new visitors and increase returning visitors.

I would re-write them at least a little bit. Google doesn't like copied content and if it hasn't figured out yet then it will once you start getting more clicks. Just go through and make them unique it won't take much longer than 5-10 minutes.

Also, may I ask which method you are using? There are several pinterest methods posted here.

Holy crap, is that why I've been getting low income? If I rewrite all of my posts, do you think my earninigs will increase or should I just transfer domain?

I definitely noticed that when I do transfer domain (coping content over but I keep the old one as well) the new domain name goes back to my regular Adsense earning.

Yeah I think you're right about complicating the whole thing a bit. You certainly have more knowledge than I about webdesign and stuff, so that might also be the reason why you make it more complicated than it is. I only now how to use the ready made blogger templates, that's were my knowledge about blogging stops...sadly ;) But honestly so far for pinterest that's enough because let's not forgot who we are mainly targeting in the recipe niche: women (predominantly middle aged). So beside what i said about the right language etc, it is mostly about nice images and colours. Just make it a bit womanly/girly/houswifey.Don't exaggerate it. Most of them like pastel colours and if you're using blogger there are already enough templates and background images which you can use for that.

But apart from that I think your strategy sounds great, especially the ebook idea. I also thought about just scanning some of my cook books and simply copying this content into my recipe blog because ultimately of course the persons who pointed out that original content is the best, are absolutely right. And originality in terms of google seo means of course: as long, as it has not been posted by someone else on the net, the content can not be more original.

Also when I said "large boards" or "big boards", I just called them like that, it's not the exact term for these boards, so you won't find them by googling those words. I think they are called community boards or simply group boards. Someone here (don't remeber who) once posted a search formular with which it is very easy to find specific big boards for your niche. Here its is:
sitepinterest.com "5000..100000 followers" KEYWORD -intitle:followers "contributor"
Just put a colon between site and pinterest, substitute "keyword" with your niche, googlesearch for it and you will get all the relevant boards starting from 5k followers.

Boy, about the getting followers thing....:tragedy: Honestly this is very tedious and only for the patient (so not for me,lol) I have tried to get traffic by gaining followers, too and I have stopped after a week, because for me personally it simply went too slow (I know I'm too impatient..), but the thing which sucked was also the repetitiveness of it... Of course by posting on group boards it means a lot of work as well, but at least you get an instant reaction once you are allowed to contribute to a board while it can take days until so. else sees a pin on your own boards and decides to follow you. People are just way too lazy to follow others on pinterest. It's not like instagram. I got hundreds of repins now and I only got about two followers from it. People only love to follow you when your boards is unique which is a bit hard on pintersts nowadays. Following others might help but I heard that only about 10% of people you follow will follow you back. So I guess the best thing to get followers is just to keep on pinning and repinning stuff on your own boards and in order to get good results you have to do it daily for several hours. I think once you reach a high amount of followers it might even be better in terms of traffic than pinning on group boards but the road to get there is long and a bit frustrating at times. But if you're more disciplined than I, I definitely encourage you to do it :)

Atm, I only post about 15-20 recipes per day(on each board) But that really depends on the size of the boards you're in. 100 recipes per day sounds like a good start. You might have to scale up, or if you're lucky with the boards you get you can even scale down. But you have to see for yourself what works best on your boards. Just make a test run with 50-100 pins per day and see how the reaction is.
I wish you good luck as well.

yeah I absoulutely agree with that! posting new recipe images (or other niche stuff) each day is essential to getting new traffic! So to those who are new to the method I use: Of course posting new images on pinterest means as well updating your blogposts each day.

Appreciate the insight on this. Gonna go modify some of my posts now.

Hello all, Not going to reply with quote as it would ocuppy the whole page lol. So ill just say thanks to Tesengrity and Zamboanga, you two are giving me new ideas to pursuit this project.

What ive done:

Created a free wordpress blog, and posted 19 recipes from a ebook i dowloaded..going to continue posting until i have 100 recipes in the blog, then ill continue posting like 10 to 20 recipes a day ( is this acceptable?). Meanwhile ill keep focusing on my pinterest account, pinning repinning, commenting and following, have like 672 followers now..Going to start applying to the big boards to see if i get accepted. I have a question about pinning my own images from computer . I have a bunch of images, like 3000 or more that i have scraped from tumblr and donwloaded from giveaways here in the forum, should i just pin those images from my computer or should i create other blogs related to the pics niche? example: Hairstyles pics, i have a hairstyle blog with simple grid like template, should i post them to the blog then to pinterest? Tell what do you think about this...im here to learn...;)

On another subject, ive seen that some of the blogs that post to pinterest have freebies and discount coupons to offer on their site. Isnt this something to look at? Does one need a site with self hosted domain do be able to do this? I know you have to apply for this affiliate program with a site...but maybe a free one could do the trick at least until one has money for a self hosted

Many questions...lets see how this goes....Have a nice day..keep us updated :p

Well I'm pinning about 20 pics a day as well. But I am not sure if it'll work for you, because for the big community boards you need way less pins a day to draw traffic. If you're just relying on your own boards to get traffic/followers, you might have to post way more than just 20 (and the focus should be on long-time pinning I guess, because especially at the beginning traffic growth goes very slow...but you have to try this out for yourself, as I said after one week of barely any traffic, I gave up...

about those images: if they are good ones, why don't you create several adsense filled blogs for different niches (like a funny blog etc.)for the pics? But you might have to think out a strategy here because you need to give them a reason why they would wanna click on your image. It's easy with recipes and do it yourself stuff cause people wanna know how it works. But with other images it's harder. For some you could create a best of list on your blog and just post one of them. Like the ten most beautiful/scariest places etc. (don't know what kind of images you got). But with e.g. landscape pics this would be the only reason I can think of why people would click on them instead of just looking at them on the pinterest page.
But if you're not in group boards yet simply pinning them directly from your pc to your own boards will be better for you to get followers. So it's really up to you what you wanna achieve. Or why not do both things at the same time?!

For your hairstyle blog: Try to get into the really big fashion/beauty/how to/styling board, pin the images from your adsense blog to pinterest and wait for the traffic to come in. Same thing as for recipes, that is, if you have a "how to" hairstyle blog!

Really have no idea about the self hosted domain for a freebie site. But there are a lot of people selling self hosting gigs at fiverr. Bought one for my amazon store on wordpress some time ago, and it was not half bad.

Your posts are always full of info, thanks.. i got plenty to think about..need to soak all that information and focusing on not being in a hurry to get traffic and start making money. Now i got 30 recipes posts on the recipes blog, do you pin the recipes to your own boards or only to the big boards you are in? im thinking of only start pinning the blog posts to pinterest when i have 100 recipes (alreay said this lol). Free wordpress suks hard, they are always shoving you with "go Pro" -give us money- Cant even add some type of widgets; cant customize the themes, only have some available, but ill keep my blog, already had some work with so there's no reason to that go to waste.

About the hairstyle blog, its mainly a photo blog, dont have any text, only small descriptions for the pics...and was wrestling with the themes to get the pics fit on the template...Some of the pics are in a sequence form, 1 pic has like 6 "collage sequence" (hope you understand this expression lol)...dont know if should start copying/ spinning some text content or leave it be like it is.

I got Landscape/jewelry/high heels/clothing/nails/luxury etc photos..but you are right, i have to give them a reason to click through my site. Will definetly think about this.

Think ill do just that.and see how it goes..:D

Do you mind explaining a litlle better about that Hosting gig on fiverr? Or i can google it if you dont have time...Have a nice day :)

No prob. People really helped me out here with my ad placement problem, so I hope I can return the favour for some others :)
I am pinning on both the group boards and on my own boards, but my main focus is really the group boards, cause only with them do I get instant traffic. Yeah free wordpress definitely sucks. I mean its features and all that is definitely way better than blogger but for pinterst and especially the recipe niche a simple basic, blog is absolutely enough. I have started the fashion niche as well, but for this one I'm gonna wordpress cause I want to combine my fashion tips with an amazon store.

lol no I absolutely do not understand what you're saying as i said I am a total noob when it comes to these web design things and I really meant it. (I paid so. on fiverr to do the stuff for me ;))
But all I can say is that the same which goes for the other niches has to go for your hairstyle blog. So if it's mainly a photo blog people might have not as much reason to click on it than when you for example add how to instructions or tips and tricks to your blog pics. Of course you should add a little description to your pins on pinterest saying that for more hair styling tricks/instructions they need to go go to your page.

I simpy found a guy that was selling an hosting account for five dollar for one year on fiverr (sorry can't remember right now which gig it was, but there should be plenty... but be careful you never know on fiverr;)). I did not want to pay the monthly fees for hostgator or bluehost, which are not very high when it comes to hosting but still were way too expensive for my budget at that time.
Then you need to install wordpress on your self hosted domain and voila your problem with the widgets and themes should be over as you can install some crazy ass killer plugins with self hosting, bro!
