I have Pinterest account with over 16k followers - they was very active a few month ago but today not - why??

Could be a lot of things: If you went inactive then it's understandable that you might have to warm up your account again with regular posting.

If your boards stopped attracting new followers, it's kind of inevitable that at least some of the old ones would have fallen off.

Engagement numbers would be really helpful to try and figure out what's going on.

pinterest might have put your account in "hidden" mode.
go to your account URL without being logged in, then click one of your own boards.
if no pins show up, then you are "hidden".
are you getting any re-pins at all?

Pinterest changes their algo all the time. Last major one was @ Feb this year. Maybe you're just noticing the results. You should google "pinterest traffic changes -site: pinterest.com" every once in awhile using the monthly filter. You'll usually find what's going on.

Remove the space between : and p since auto formatting turns it into when next to each other.

Repin trending pins, i haven't seen a drop in my pinterest traffic

Maybe your niche is seasonal.

Try google trends and see if there is any volatility in you niche.

maybe your account ghosted. its mean you are pinning but no one don't see your pin in their homefeed thats why you dont get repins or likes.
Here is the method for check . You should pin from a website for example: xxx. com
Than check this www. pinterest. com / source / xxx. com . if you dont see your pin there . Its mean your account has ghosted.
