Pinspire a complete Pinterest Rip-off

Hey Pinterest Spammers ;)

Just noticed another Pinterest style rip off in one of my Google Adsense links called Pinspire. No stupid invite needed to join either.

Start experimenting people.

It's rips it off, but one thing I noticed is that it doesn't let you add a link to your images. Just tried it out to see if they included that, but doesn't seem to be. it'll be interesting to see how that works out for them.
 
There's a few of these sites.. Juxtapost and WeHeartIt are others.

I know very well company behind it - it's a German incubator - R o c k e t I n t e r n e t. What they are basically doing is cloning all successful business and repeating them in different parts of the world. They have cloned US Zappos and launched it in SE Asia as Zalora. Pinspire is one of their clones and what is interesting about it that they have bought all possible domains and gave to users regional sites like pinspire.cn, pinspire.se etc. and they are full of real users!

I just wonder about law issues. No one sue them?

and without the links to the images its scope for IM is very limited. and hope Pinterest does not change its linking policy.
 
I wonder if on these clones, if you should start using your own redirection site out of the gate, just encase they decided like Pinterest to remove your affiliate tag.
 
With a lawsuit, it's only if the company suing has the funding since it can drag on and in a different country that just makes the legal fees sky high. I think since Pinterest had to quit their Amazon Affiliate recode, they're scrambling to monetize and it's not like the easiest type of site to do that.

theres some plugins for wordpress and joomla that lets you clone pinterest, or you can get the full clone off pinterestclones com I guess theyre gettin popular since some people cant find where to get invites :)

haha wow..they didn't even attempt to differentiate it at all.

however, what ItsHere said it actually kind of interesting. I do wonder what the legalities of ripping off websites are, but I have had several connects that would copy the business models of ones in the US, say Groupons, went overseas and started one there. It worked for them and now they're loaded...hahaha

Does it have all the functionality? Or is it just the Wordpress theme?
 
Yeah and the site is pretty buggy :p

only spent 5 minutes poking around and have already found some ways to have some fun..
 
This is straight up karma when a site devoted to ripping off content created by the "little people" gets ripped off itself. Unfortunately, gets ripped off by yet another entity that will ripe off the "little people" some more...
