Ping.fm no longer functional with Twitterfeed

I have a couple accounts I use to post rss feeds through twitterfeed into ping.fm and today I noticed that they had all seized. I have been looking around and seen that a few other posts have been made about this through google/yahoo answers etc. Anyone got new ideas to get around the API key not working with twitterfeed anymore? Or possibly other systems the same as twitterfeed?

Also just wanted to let everyone know to check out their stuff if they haven't already noticed.

sigh i was about to experiment with this since onlywire had failed to work property

You used to be able to get your API key from Ping.fm easy, but now you have to send an e-mail to customer support requesting for the key. They say it's due to all the spam.

Not that i'm knowledgeable about these things, but I wonder if it has anything to do with the changes to Twitter that are coming up, I heard oAuth will be no more. I dunno.
 
I just checked and it has been broken for at least six days according to my dashboard.

I did find a thread where someone from twitterfeed said they were aware and working with ping to resolve the issue.

Weird, I don't think my ping.fm api key was suspended but it's still not posting.

And this is what support said to one person who got their api suspended:

I am contacting you regarding your recent API suspension. Your key was chosen for suspension due to the seemingly high volume of requests being made to our system. We also analyzed the content being submitted through the API and decided that the activity seemed suspicious.

We don't usually take these drastic measures, but recently we've been having API clients really push our resources.

I am glad to review your application details over and re-enable your access to the API. I just need a few things from you first to clarify how you are using our API.

So, if you could tell me:

1. The API key that got suspended
2. The application name
3. Purpose of the application
4. Estimated posting volumes

Also, please be sure to read our TOS regarding the API and how it can be used.

Man this is frustrating.. ping.fm rocked for distributing to all the networks.

I've gone through all my Twitterfeed 'Ping.fm' settings and all are ticked 'active', should I be aware of any background problems?
 
Recently Seesmic buy Ping.fm I think that they defused, but they say nothing.
 
What are you guys using now?

I notice the RSS feature on ping.fm:

but they only allow one feed, and there isn't any customization like Twitterfeed (since it's real-time).

Please post any alternatives if you've found any.

If you look in the dashboard of ping.fm, you'll see that they've also added google reader as a feed source. In theory this should be the answer to our problems. The problem, for me at least, is that google reader is just about the most cryptic piece of shit i've ever tried to use. There is a way to do it, i just haven't had the patience to figure it out yet.

hmmm... I think ping.fm is just not working with twitterfeed.com. I've tried to use ping.fm and it looks fine. If you want to link own blog to ping.fm, use shorten2ping.
 
shorten2ping looks to be a better alternate to twitterfeed.com, have anybody tried this option.. remarks please
