If you have a review site where on the front page you list all the different websites available in your niche. These are affiliate links, and I'd like to place an image next to the link with some text for each one. Would it be illegal to use an image of their logos next to the links? I know that it's not allowed to use others logos on your own site, but if it's an indicator of where they will end up when clicking the link? If not, what image would you use instead to give a picture of the site you're sending them to?

You should check the terms on each site for restrictions. A lot of sites don't mind because you're trying to help them sell products. Sometimes they provide you with an 'affiliate resource' section with articles and images for you to use. A lot of clickbank vendors do this.

My motto is to use their images unless they state not to. Maybe not the best way to go about it but whatever

It all comes down to the terms of the individual sites. The only way to know for sure is to read the terms or to contact them

While I normally know the answers for questions regarding copyright infringement, I've always been a bit stumped when it comes to logos, although I'm going to assume they laws are similar for logos as they are for other images.

Based on what I know, you can use someone's logo on your site under the Fair Use Doctorine for commentary or critique (in your case, reviewing the product) so long as you're not posing as the company.

Copyright issues are often complex and hence its best to check with each site's terms with regards to the use of their images.

I always use Vendor's Images to promote Affiliate Products. Vendor will never claim if you Promote his Product...

Some vendors even have affiliate tool pages filled with images that you can use.

I don't think anyone minds you're using their logos/images as long as you promote their product/service and you're also giving them a nice backlink. I never had any issues.

I think using their images to represent themselves should not be an issue.
