People asked me why I don't talk about IM much anymore. Honestly I used to be super active. *Sniff*, 
I talked such a good game when I was young about my own lambo and flocks of hoes. But at some point I realized....shit I'm just paying rent, man. Where's the ticket to complete financial freedom?
It ain't over lads. Never. Hustla till I die. I've been looking at a new game and this shit right here's gotta work bro. It's GOTTA work. I've run all the numbers and the possible business growth avenues and it looks like a winner. Time to get to work:
Strain A (common crimson watermelon ~ 4-5kgs at maturity, population 50 active, healthy plants):
Strain B (Julie F1 hybrid ~ 10-12kgs at maturity, population 280 active, healthy plants):
These are just some of the ones I've planted around my home. They seem to be doing really well since I'm close by and pay attention to them every day.
But we're going to start getting greedy bros. VERY greedy.
Strain C, D (Tiger F1 and Sukari F1 hybrids ~8-10 kgs at maturity, population 1200+ germinated babies looking healthy):
They are a bit harder to see since they are still in their seed leaf stage, but they are there. The guy we hired to plant them did a piss poor, sloppy job and also stole a bunch of seeds.
That's my fault. I should have personally been there watching his ass. Oh well, you live and learn. I'm just glad he actually did any work.
I also have an additional 500+ Sugar Baby plants that are yet to germinate (2-3kgs at maturity). It's been a bit dry so I'm watering them manually (workers are mindless and step on my shit, grrrrrr).
Let's run through the numbers. Each plant gives on average 2 fruits with the exception of sugar babies which give 3-4. They take 80-85 days to mature. I won't include them in the final calculation since they haven't germinated.
Strain A: 50 plants * 2 fruits * 4-5 kgs each * 22-45 ksh/kg = 8,800 - 22,500 ksh
Strain B: 280 plants * 2 fruits * 10-12 kgs each * 22-45 ksh/kg = 123,200 - 302,400 ksh
Strain C,D: 1200 plants * 2 fruits * 8-10 kgs each * 22-45 ksh/kg = 422,400 - 1,080,000 ksh
Estimated gross income: 554,400 - 1,404,900 ksh = $5,356 - $13,573 USD.
Estimated costs:
Water tank - 70,000 ksh
Seeds - 10,000 ksh
Labor - 20,000 ksh
Water (so far) - 4,000 ksh
Apple Cider Vinegar - 1,000 ksh
Total Costs: 10500 ksh or $1,014 USD.
Estimated profit after 3 months on essentially 1/2 an acre: $4,344- $12,559 USD.
I'm organic but I've been trying my best to avoid major crop illnesses and researching organic cures. I didn't use any fertilizer since this is just a test round and I'm working with mostly virgin land. That being said, if we even lose HALF or 2/3rds of the crops, we're still deep in the green. However, my figures seem to line up with what most watermelon farmers here make per acre, etc... It's very labor intensive work and I'm usually sore/tired (sorry for the slow pms).
The goal is to scale up - fast. After 2 growing seasons, rent/buy an equal amount of land, prepare it, farm it, bank, repeat until I'm sitting pretty at 100+ acres.
Anyway, just updating you guys on progress. When the fruits start maturing I'll post another thread like this. And another for the final numbers. This is my plan to escape the middle class and get money like Johnny Depp in "Blow" lol! Wish me luck gents and as always, I appreciate any tips, etc...
