Here's another problem I have. I have a domain name which I bought for my affiliate marketing. When you type in the address it opens the index.php/index.html page automatically. Now in that page I have added a redirect php script that has my ClickBank product's hoplink in it. In the html(of the page with redirect script) I have also added a title, meta tags and a <h2> heading with my selected keywords (which you wont see because the page redirects you too quickly) in it. My question is, will google pick up that page and show it under the search for my keyword? Will the search item be showed on the google page with the heading, and so forth, even though it's main purpose is only to redirect?
I mean there is a lot of people using these type of domain name urls in their ezine articles to redirect to their CB products for example. That is obviously important for getting that domain name linked high in google. Anyone know if that domain name actually gets ranked if it is only used for redirecting?
They MIGHT index it... but it won't rank well for anything as your site has no legitimate content in it.... seeing as it's main purpose is just a redirect to a sales page which has no unique content.
It will indexed but it wont get any rankings or such. I have had domains with blank index pages indexed. You can always do a site:mydomain.com search in Google to see if its indexed or not. If you don't want it getting indexed, make a robots.txt: User-agent: Googlebot Disallow: *
